Hello Anna, If your correct model number is RAX7245BW0, no that part will not work. While it operates and mounts the same, it cannot work because the electrical connector on the far end from the switch will not plug in. The part number you need is 285671.

Hello Emily. No, it is not the lid switch if the motor runs during spin. It sounds like the drive block or the clutch on the unit is bad and will need to be replaced. Remove the inner tub and see if the drive block WP389140 is stripped out on the unit.

Jenk for Model Number LSR6232JQ1

My washer recently started stopping halfway through the agitation cycle. When I go and just bang one time on the lid it will continue where it left off and complete the entire washing sequence. If I put something heavy on the lid, it will complete the entire washing sequence without any manual intervention (me banging on it). Is a lid switch something that slowly goes out over time? For example, will it get to a point where me banging or putting something heavy on the lid will no longer work? And will replacing the lid switch solve my problem? It's nothing more than a nuisance/headache at this point, but I don't want to get "stranded" with a washer full of water and wet clothes when it decides it's going to quit for good.

Hello Jenk, Based on the information provided it sounds as if though the lid switch 3949247V is making intermittent contact. Check to make sure that the lid on unit is not loose where it will slide a little causing intermittent contact. Also check the plunger WP358684 to make sure that is not damaged. If these things check ok replace lid switch.

Hello, My Roper does not switch on at all. Power was checked and is OK. Water was added manually and it still does not turn on. I have read that the lid switch could be the problem. This washer will turn on and fill when the lid is open,(when working properly), so why is it possible that the lid switch would prevent the washer from any power if when running properly I do not have to have the lid closed until the spin cycle? If it is a faulty lid switch, does it stop all power to the washer? Thanks!

Hello Tim, If the unit normally will fill with the lid open, the issue is most likely with the pressure switch or the timer. This is the kind of issue that needs specific troubleshooting with the wiring diagram. Since we don't have the model number, we are in a tough position. If we could please ask you to re-post with a model number, we can go into detail and assist you in restoring normal operation.
