Johnny April 05, 2014 for Model Number IS25AGXRQ02 My main problem is low water flow from water dispenser, or there is no water pressure. The ice dispenser is working good.So if I release the filter from the filter housing or don't use the filter the water flow is strong and normal . I replaced the water inlet valve and the filter, but the problem is still there. What else do I need to check or replace. Thanks
1 Answer Johnny, The next thing to check or replace would be the filter housing WP2186443. If you're sure you have the correct water filter, and it is properly installed in the present housing, then the issue would be in the internal valve system in the filter housing. Read More...
Kybbwgal February 25, 2014 for Model Number ED22PEXHT02 Water dispenser in the door suddenly doesnt' work but we hear sound coming from a motor when we depress the lever. The ice maker still dispenses ice but not 100% sure it is making ice. The sound from the water filling the tray in the ice maker part is "funny" sounding, not like it was before. Does this sound like a water fill valve or motor switch error? Is there some simple troubleshooting I can do in addition to the multimeter tests?
1 Answer Hello KyBBWGal. If there is power to the water valve, and the unit does not dispense water, you will need to replace the valve on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Ajay January 29, 2014 for Model Number KSSO42QMB My water dispenser is not working for my Kitchenaid side by side. The ice maker is making ice and it dispenses. When I press the water paddle it will click but no water comes out. Would this be the micro switch. Also, the unit has wood panelling on it, so how do you get to the dispenser panel off to get to the micro switch?
1 Answer Ajay, At the bottom of the door there is a water connection. Disconnect the water line and push the dispenser and see if the water comes out. If water comes out then the water line in the door is frozen and is not a replaceable part. The door which has been discontinued would need to be replaced. Read More...
Jose January 15, 2014 for Model Number ed5thaxms10 How do I test a switch part no. 2162361 for continuity?
1 Answer Hello Jose. The micro-switch is marked. Should read NO and COM. When testing, as you press the button, the contact should close for continuity. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
John September 17, 2013 for Model Number Whirlpool ED5CHQXKB03 My ice dispenser is not working. The ice maker makes ice but does not dispense it through the door. When you push the lever on the door nothing happens. The light works fine. You can still get water from the dispense. Any suggustions?
1 Answer Hello John. Make sure the micro-switch is good and if so, you may have an issue with a bad auger motor if there is power to the motor. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Rick August 29, 2013 for Model Number ED2GVEXVD01 I HAVE REPLACED THE SELONOID AND MOTOR BUT NO ICE FROM DISPENSER. WHATS LEFT MICROSWITCH OR MODULE. THE WATER WORKS. ARE THERE TWO MICROSWITCHES?
1 Answer Rick, You will want to check the dispenser bracket for broken pegs where the switch is located. You do this by using a flat blade under the lower front of the dispenser panel and pop the lower part out. Once out you can take the panel off and inspect the bracket. Read More...
Marco July 01, 2013 for Model Number KSCS25FKSS00 Hello, water and ice dispenser are not working, I can hear the click for both of them when we push the controls, also the light does not turns on. Is there a reset switch that controls the electricity for these components? Ice maker keeps making ice, meaning water is filling the ice maker, but it does not dispense ice or water, completely dead. Please help.
1 Answer Hello Marco. Look for bad wiring on the unit and also, check and see if the front cover 2186511B is bad. If there is power to it, but nothing working, you will need to replace the front cover. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Chris April 29, 2013 for Model Number Whirlpool ED5VHGXMQ00 I have a problem with the water dispenser leaking sometimes. It will just start dripping on it's own. If you push the paddle and let it go, it will usually stop dripping. Is it a bad switch or valve? Thanks for the help.
1 Answer Hello Chris. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the water valve is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
Sam April 06, 2013 for Model Number ED5FHEXNS02 Hi, My water dispenser is not working, however ice dispenser is working. I thought the micro switch was broken so, I switched them around between ice dispenser and water dispenser. The ice dispenser still works but water dispenser does not. I hear the click noise when I hold the lever, so the lever is pushing the switch on micro switch. I saw the water flowing from back of the refrigerator when the ice maker is turned on. We always keep it off as we rarely use it. What could be the problem here? Thank you, Sam
1 Answer Hello Sam, This sounds like the water line in the door and/or the water reservoir in the bottom of the fresh food section has frozen. You can try turning the freezer temperature setting to a warmer setting and the fresh food setting to a colder setting. This will increase the air circulation throughout the unit and stop the cold air from "migrating" to the bottom. When you do this, you need to let the units' temperature stabilize for 24 hours before attempting to dispense water. If this isn't fast enough for you, you can remove a crisper drawer and heat the water reservoir with a hair dryer. Read More...
