Frank December 03, 2015 for Model Number WED8300SW2 The dryer was running last night and mid-cycle it just died. I checked the fuse and it had not blown. I had the apartment service team check the fuse and the dryer is getting 210V instead of 220V but that may have been the case all along. There is no indication of power on the control panel or the light in the drum. I checked the power cord and all the connections are tight. So based on the service manual it seems the next step is to replace the CONSOLE ELECTRONICS AND HOUSING ASSEMBLY unless hopefully the lower line voltage is the cause. So my question is if the 210V line voltage would cause the dryer to stop and be completely unresponsive? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Frank. The voltage tested should read 240 VAC. If it is 210 VAC, then you defiantly have a power issue. Read More...
Don December 31, 2014 for Model Number WED8500SR0 Purchased used Whirlpool washer & dryer. While moving, the "stem" to the dial control knob broke off. Can just the stem be replaced, or that component or does complete assembly need replacement? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Don, The control WP8571955 will have to be replaced and if you cannot remove the stem from the knob WP8574964, it will also have to be replaced. Read More...
Holly November 06, 2014 for Model Number WED8300SW0 The front panel w/ Controls was "loose". Then the other day it would not start. I loosened the duct tape to find that one of the wires was loose & broken off. I could see where it had "broken off" and when touched o that small solder point, it DID start the dryer. Tried this for about 3-4 times [as I had tons of wet wash to dry!], but now it does nothing. What do I need to replace for this to work properly?
1 Answer Hello Holly, If this WP8571955 is the part with the broken wire, it will most likely need to be replaced since soldering on the board without proper grounding equipment fore the soldering iron will normally shoot the board. Read More...
Sergei November 06, 2014 for Model Number wirlpool sport duet Hello. My dryer shows drum light on , checked thermoses is ok, control board shows nothing and not responsive. is the problem Control Board or Main Circuit Board? Thank you
1 Answer Hello Sergei. You need to check the door switch in the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...

However, I can still push the button mounted to the circuit board and start the dryer. Do I need to replace the entire assembly with this piece or can I just buy the plastic molded assembly around the circuit board?

Ken February 26, 2014 for Model Number wed8300sw0 I sent a question earlier about my whirlpool duet sport dryer having a f-02 error code problem and have replaced the user interface panel 8571955. The dryer runs and seems to cycle properly, but from time to time the wrinkle shield button lights and beeps. I ran it through diagnostics and the same f-02 error code is there. Could it be a bad part or something else? There is some discussion mentioning the control panel. The dryer did overheat due to a plugged dryer vent which seems to be where it all started. Any suggestions?
1 Answer Hello Ken. F-02 Keypad/User Interface Failure. F-02 flashes when there is a stuck button or user interface mismatch. Replace the control panel on the unit. Read More...
Paul February 25, 2014 for Model Number wed8300sw1 After cleaning dust out my dryer it will no longer start. It gets power to the front panel but as soon as I press the START button it make a loud "pop" and the circuit breaker goes off. I took it all apart again and see nowhere where it would be shorting out. (no singes or burn marks anyplace.) Is it most likely the front control panel - the start switch? If so do I have replace the entire panel?
1 Answer Hello Paul. You have a hot wire touching metal somewhere on the unit. You need to go back and check the wires again. Also, check the belt switch and motor wiring good. Read More...

Harry January 12, 2014 for Model Number wed8300sw2 My dryer will not start and I am getting a f10 code, which I believe is the circuit board part number WP8571955. Is this correct?
1 Answer Hello Harry, Usually, when a fault code is presented on a unit that is not listed as a valid fault code, it is usually a bad control board WPW10111606. The WP8571955 could be an issue but this is the user interface and is usually not the cause of this type issue. Read More...
