Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Ge profile advantium 120 clock display erratic   Cathy W. • Harrisburg , AR • December 06, 2016

My Advantium worked fine except the clock and cooking instructions were dim and bounced in a circular pattern over the left side of the display. I tried unplugging it and once or twice that seemed to help. When I finally decided to take the control panel off I had a difficult time until I saw an old remark from a 2009 forum discussion from a guy that said there were about a dozen screws to remove to get to the control panel. That meant the entire cover had to come off! Wow! Glad I didn't break... Read more

Microwave display flickering, blank, or distorted? This control board manages timing, power levels, and display functions. DIY install in 20-25 minutes.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Display filckering on GE Monogram zsc1000kbb01   Chris O. • La Verne , CA • November 15, 2022

First I replaced the flickering digitron after reading elsewhere that it may be just a weak display. The new digit on was still flickering but a little differently. Our oven was still working with either display until suddenly it wasn't one morning. After finding AppliancePartsPros and reading that others had to go further by replacing the transformer and power boards, that's when I looked closer at those parts. There was some smoke evidence on the cover over the transformer and the back of... Read more

Removed 8 screws from bottom panel on microwave. Pulled two prong plug off old motor. Read supplied voltage off motor decal and tested for it. Deemed motor to be bad and changed it. Works great. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Microwave turntable motor overheated and melted tray coupler   Terry H. • Columbia , MO • May 31, 2018

Obtained the replacement motor and tray coupler from Appliance Parts Pro. Video of the typical replacement was very helpful to show what to expect and how to replace the motor and coupler. The removal of the bottom plate was held in place by several phillips screws. The motor was attached with two torx screws. The electric connection clips to the motor required needle nose pliers to pull them off. The tray coupler was simple to install after the motor was secured and bottom plate was replaced.. Read more

Microwave Encoder Board

Part Number: WB27X32632

Selector knob or dial stopped working? This encoder board translates rotary control input into signals. Moderate DIY repair requires control panel removal.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Selector knob stopped functioning   Jeffrey E. • Plymouth , MN • September 03, 2016

Replaced the "Encoder Board". My GE Advantium control panel came of fairly easily. There was 2 screws on top to remove a vent director giving access to a single screw that held the control panel in place. Once I removed that screw, I had to slide the control panel upwards by about 1/2" before it came off. At this point, I took several photographs of the wire connections to make sure I could reassemble them correctly... there were many! After unplugging the wire harnesses and connections, I... Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Ge model jes1651sj02 microwave turntable would not rotate   Frances C. • Burdett , NY • January 14, 2017

When our turntable stopped rotating, I would hear a clicking sound each time I used our microwave, like something was not properly engaging in order to turn the glass tray. Even though our microwave was 10 years old, everything else worked fine. I did a little research on the internet and found a couple YouTube videos that showed replacing the small motor in the bottom of GE microwaves. I am not a mechanical person, but it looked fairly easy, so I decided to try it. The... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Turntable did not turn on our ge under the cabinet microwave   Cory S. • Rochester , MN • July 03, 2016

Unplug your microwave. Took the screws off of the bottom of the unit with it still on the cabinet. The whole bottom panel swung down to expose the turntable motor. I took the power cable loose (just pull it off). It was one screw to take the motor out. Word to the wise: DON'T try to take the plastic coupler off before the motor. Their is a tab that holds it in while the motor is in place. If you pry it up you will break it, trust me. ;) Turn the motor out of its housing and it come right out.... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You My microwave turntable stopped turning   Jeremy N. • Deer Park , TX • January 15, 2017

I ordered the replacement motor. I unplugged the microwave. Then I simply removed the turntable spindle by lifting it up off the motor from inside the microwave. Next, I removed the 7 screws holing the bottom of the microwave in place. I lowered the bottom of the microwave, giving me access to the motor. I unplugged the two wires connected to the motor, removed the 2 screws holding the motor in place, then put the new motor in place and reversed the steps to complete the job. Read more

Relay Board
Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WB27X32849

The Relay Board is an OEM part for GE microwaves. It controls the passage of proper voltage levels for various microwave components during operation.

Installed internally, this board transmits power signals to run the magnetron, fan, and lighting systems as directed by the selected cooking settings. Precise switching of voltages is required for consistent and balanced microwave radiation.

Symptoms of a faulty relay board include:

  • Intermittent or unpredictable power level adjustments
  • Magnetron fails to turn on or fluctuates excessively
  • Light not illuminating properly
  • Fan speed irregularities
  • Microwaves not properly heating foods

Causes can be damage from liquid intrusion, heavy usage over time stressing the relays, or component failures within the board itself.

Replacing with this genuine OEM GE part restores optimized power routing to maintain consistent microwave functions. Compatible models also include some Hotpoint, RCA, and select Kenmore products.

Looked online and found that someone had experienced the same issue and had replaced the cooling fan assembly for the magnetron. I ordered the parts for the assembly (motor, fan, and support), and replaced them and this fixed the problem. It took about 10 minutes to replace the parts, but lowering the unit and disassembly took around 45 minutes.
