My Advantium worked fine except the clock and cooking instructions were dim and bounced in a circular pattern over the left side of the display. I tried unplugging it and once or twice that seemed to help. When I finally decided to take the control panel off I had a difficult time until I saw an old remark from a 2009 forum discussion from a guy that said there were about a dozen screws to remove to get to the control panel. Our oven was still working with either display until suddenly it wasn't one morning. After finding AppliancePartsPros and reading that others had to go further by replacing the transformer and power boards, that's when I looked closer at those parts. Removed 8 screws from bottom panel on microwave. Pulled two prong plug off old motor. Read supplied voltage off motor decal and tested for it. Deemed motor to be bad and changed it. Works great. After tearing old motor apart it seems a liquid got in there from inside microwave. No seal on motor. Bad design flaw in my opinion. Read more

Obtained the replacement motor and tray coupler from Appliance Parts Pro. Video of the typical replacement was very helpful to show what to expect and how to replace the motor and coupler. The removal of the bottom plate was held in place by several phillips screws. The motor was attached with two torx screws. The electric connection clips to the motor required needle nose pliers to pull them off. The tray coupler was simple to install after the motor was secured and bottom plate was replaced.. Read more

Replaced the "Encoder Board". My GE Advantium control panel came of fairly easily. There was 2 screws on top to remove a vent director giving access to a single screw that held the control panel in place. Once I removed that screw, I had to slide the control panel upwards by about 1/2" before it came off. When our turntable stopped rotating, I would hear a clicking sound each time I used our microwave, like something was not properly engaging in order to turn the glass tray. Even though our microwave was 10 years old, everything else worked fine. Unplug your microwave. Took the screws off of the bottom of the unit with it still on the cabinet. The whole bottom panel swung down to expose the turntable motor. I took the power cable loose (just pull it off). It was one screw to take the motor out. Word to the wise: DON'T try to take the plastic coupler off before the motor. Their is a tab that holds it in while the motor is in place. If you pry it up you will break it, trust me. ;) Turn the motor out of its housing and it come right out.... Read more

I ordered the replacement motor. I unplugged the microwave. Then I simply removed the turntable spindle by lifting it up off the motor from inside the microwave. Next, I removed the 7 screws holing the bottom of the microwave in place. I lowered the bottom of the microwave, giving me access to the motor. I unplugged the two wires connected to the motor, removed the 2 screws holding the motor in place, then put the new motor in place and reversed the steps to complete the job. Read more

I replaced the motor by removing 5 screws from the bottom of the microwave and 1 screws from the motor. Very easy to replace, I didn't even have to remove it from the wall (I unplugged it just in case). Read more

Ordered the turntable motor. Removed the bottom panel of the microwave to gain access, removed the old motor and replaced it with the new one. Easy peasy! Read more

I contacted Appliance Parts Pros, and told them what the problem was and what it was doing. They sent me an email with the parts number needed to complete the repair. This was a built in a cabinet unit and I required help removing it and reinstalling it. The repair was relative easy once I had the parts and it took approximately four hours,. Looked online and found that someone had experienced the same issue and had replaced the cooling fan assembly for the magnetron. I ordered the parts for the assembly (motor, fan, and support), and replaced them and this fixed the problem. It took about 10 minutes to replace the parts, but lowering the unit and disassembly took around 45 minutes. I removed the 7 screws on the bottom of the microwave that held the bottom sheet metal piece. The piece dropped down , exposing the turntable motor. I ordered the parts I needed, the motor and the coupler (which had broken), and when they arrived the next day, I removed the 2 screws which held the motor in place and installed the new motor. I replaced the sheet metal piece and the 7 screw, and then put the coupler in the microwave, pushing it onto the motor. I replaced the glass turntable. ... Read more
