I doubt I needed all the parts I bought but I am limited on time. So I replaced the defrost thermostat, defrost timer, and the defrost heater. So far so good. It hasn't been 2 weeks yet, but I have noticed that the freezer doesn't seem to be constantly running as before. Time will tell.

This refrigerator compartment wire harness restores reliable electrical connections to components in the fresh-food section. Replacing a damaged or heat-stressed harness helps resolve intermittent outages and ensures power and signals reach RC components as designed. What it does:
- Distributes power and control signals between the main wiring and refrigerator-compartment components
- Helps address issues like RC lights not working or intermittent/no power to fresh-food section components
- Replaces harnesses with broken conductors, overheated/browned insulation, corroded, or loose connectors
- Maintains correct routing to prevent pinched, shorted, or chafed wires
What's included:
- 1 refrigerator compartment wire harness assembly
Install notes:
- Disconnect power before servicing; do not work on live circuits
- Note the original routing and take photos to match clip locations and connector paths
- Seat keyed connectors fully; do not force—verify pin alignment and locking tabs
- Avoid pinching the harness when reinstalling panels and covers; restore power and test operation

Breaker was tripping when going into defrost mode Paul G. • New Fairfield , CT • December 08, 2014
Inspected the Defrost timer and it seamed to be functioning properly. Ohm ed out the defrost heater element and it also measured out correctly (mine 34 ohms). Bypassed the heater element and found that the unit would run without tripping breaker during defrost cycle. At this point i inspected the wiring to the heater and checked continuity of the wire and continuity to ground, No issues found. So with the heater out of the circuit and not having an issue i ordered heater element from...

Ice maker would not dispense ice and chute/container would frost over Theo S. • Tallahassee , FL • October 01, 2014
When diagnosing the problem, I discovered that the ice door was not properly sealing and that the solenoid had appeared to rust/corrode forcing the door open.
I replaced most of the ice dispenser internals (solenoid, crank, door, and spring) following the video.
The door will now open when dispensing ice (which it does!), and will oddly stay open for a few seconds once I am finished, but does seal properly and the chute/container no longer frosts over.

Ice build up in top freezer of refrigerator Kevin S. • Mission Viejo , CA • May 13, 2015
After watching numerous videos I was able to discern that the problem was with one of the following: the timer, the heater, or the thermostat. a short time check showed me that the timer was working so that narrowed it down to the other two. Not having the necessary tools to check those two I ordered both parts. Once the parts came and I took out the old parts it was quite evident that it was the heater since it had black burn marks on it. I decided to install the thermostat also since it...

Ice "lava flow" inside the freezer Kenneth C. • Alamo , CA • February 01, 2018
Firstly, the Ice Door had a kink in the edge, which caused it to stay open and create lots of frost on the coils. $5.00 part, highly recommend it. (By the way, the new door was little too big and it too stay propped open and left a gap so I had to trim the top edge of the rubber with scissors to get it to fully close.) Secondly, there are two heaters for the defrost cycle, one that goes around the coils and another attached to a collector pan beneath the coils. When the cycle hits, those...
