William S Webster Groves , MO May 23, 2019 Appliance: Samsung Refrigerator RF266AEPN/XAA-0001 Samsung defrost issue Refrigerator had some frost buildup by the back panel so after a lot of searching around I found that the issue could be the drain hole was clogged up. I cleaned it out and made sure that there was nothing clogging up, but that did not fix the issue. I found similar stories as mine on AppliancePartsPros site so I decided to order the three parts that may be the issue, defrost thermostat, temperature sensor and the defrost heater. After a bit more research I found that the most likely issue was with the temperature sensor, I found out how to test it and compared it to the new one by placing the sensor in a glass of ice water and checked the resistance. I replaced the temperature sensor and it fixed the problem so now I can send back the other parts as they are unused. Just costs me a few dollars of insurance (shipping back) to have the parts on hand. Well worth it considering how much a service call would have been. Biggest issue was waiting for the iced up coil to melt overnight. Very easy to replace and there are really detailed videos. Have patience with melting as you do not want to destroy the styrofoam and create a bigger problem for yourself. Don’t force it. It took about 45 minutes working time to replace and get things back in order. Raymond C East Meadow , NY July 27, 2015 Appliance: Samsung Refrigerator RFG237AAWP/XAA-0000 The rear wall on the inside of the fridge was freezing and then thaw leaving thin sheets of ice under the drawer bin I replaced the Thermistor and the Fresh Food Defrost Heater. At this time, I would like to make some additional comments about this company; "AppliancePartsPros.com" Is I tell you I had searched EVERYWHERE on the internet, including SAMSUNG parts, Sears Parts Direct, and others giving them the exact male and model and had received all of the wrong parts from all of them. That meant I had to ship all of them back and spend several hours on the phone, and in the end still received the wrong parts the second time around. On top of this, it was my experience that these other companies seem less than helpful due to their protection of the manufacturers service companies. THE BOTTOM LINE IS; I WILL ORDER PARTS APPLIANCE PARTS AGAIN FROM ANYONE ELSE BUT "AppliancePartsPros.Com They are without a doubt "The Best" and will give you more help than you could ever ask for. And that's a fact. Raymond M. Cudahy Read More... 7 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers
