To verify if you have a bad valve in the first place read on... I first pulled out the ice maker to remove all the frozen water including the inlet section which was a huge solid waterfall of ice. While it was out completely disconnected I cleaned/chipped out the freezer section ice puddle. This was a two and half year issue as different things failed at different times. I would get one part, then another would fail. I replace the water inlet valve in my refrigerator about 8 months ago. About a week ago, the old plastic water line broke.
