My dishwasher was leaking and I called to have a certified technician come to diagnose the problem. I removed the kick panel from the bottom of the machine. He turned it on and we saw that water was leaking from the bottom. He said I needed a Sump kit but it wasn't in stock. The cost was $170 plus tax and labor cost was another $140. Just replaced the things. Had to reuse old tine rows, rollers, the spray arm, etc., i.e. I removed 'em from the old racks and put on the new ones, but that was piece of cake. Also, I cleaned the food grinder and the discharge valve compartment (thank you very ???? ???? much, Internet), so spray arms around the top rack get enough water pressure now. I didn't have to buy any parts for the latter part of this little repair project, though. Read more

While this is a Whirlpool dishwasher, I have the Kenmore Elite version of it. I believe them to be identical for parts. A little background: The first symptom I had of problems was plastic bits from the ball bearing retainer strips in the slides falling out. Then ball bearings falling out. A common problem with this dishwasher. When disassembling the upper basket, some of the gray plastic pieces were very brittle and easily snapped off. Bought part number W11752368 to replace the top rack. No wheels came with the rack and the wheels on the old rack did not fit. Have to buy part number WPW10204141 to replace the old wheels. The center tower piece was a little difficult to take off and put on. Fairly simple job. Read more

I think I could have just replaced the pump, but I chose to replace the whole assembly. The part is more expensive, but all the gaskets, etc, that come with it are new and that made sense to change all at once. I was able to change this in about 30 minutes, without removing the washer from the under-counter space. I did remove the front door panel, but in retrospect that was unnecessary and probably cost me more time than it saved. Empty the washer of parts, remove the front access panel.... Read more

I was repairing my daughter's WDT730pahz0 Whirlpool dishwasher. The bottom dish rack set of wheels was very easy to install. The replacements for the upper set of wheels is different than the originals. In my opinion, the replacements are far superior to the original parts. Funny, my husband did it. We have a service contract but you know how long that still takes. So he found the part at the bottom of the dishwasher and it had a number on it.
