Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The rince cycle water output was very little   Carl D. • Snow Camp , NC • March 31, 2014

I was cleaning the supply hose filter screen constancely, I had no Idea there was filter screens in the pump intakes on the machine. once I found them and replaced them, I had plenty of water, so don't buy supply hoses with the screens in them until you check to see if your machine has them already. This OEM LG part is also compatible with Sears/Kenmore models.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Bad bearings seal and spider   David R. • Jacksonville , FL • February 04, 2017

If your LG Front load washers sounds like a freight train, STOP USING IT. You're doing more damage and will need more parts to fix it. After the noise became unbearable, I began to explore and disassemble. I knew enough to know the bearings must be bad but had never done this repair before. ( I am however pretty mechanically inclined.) Watch this video before you start tearing your LG apart. APP did a great job explaining the steps of the repair. Watched a whole bunch of YouTube videos to replace the tub bearings. Completely disassembled the washing machine. Found that water leaked past the rear tub gasket causing the inner tube bearing to corrode. Replaced both bearings and tub gasket. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Little black specks in the dispenser tray calicum build up and rusted clamps on rear of dispenser   Paul B. • San Diego , CA • January 30, 2017

I figured after 10.5 years that it might be time to replace the dispenser hoses because I was noticing black stuff in the dispenser trays. I replaced two or the four hoses and clamps on the far left side and for good measure the hot water inlet valve. The inlet valve was okay but the screen had all kinds of crap in there that I couldn't clean out so now I have an extra solenoid just in case one of the others fails. While I was at it I removed the dispenser and cleaned the calcium build up on... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Machine was making a rumbling noise   Stuart K. • Port Huron , MI • September 29, 2017

Can't buy LG parts in Canada without getting an LG Tech to install. $1000 repair was too steep for me so went on websites and bought from Appliance Parts. Watch the video on Appliance Parts. Note - Joyce from Appliance Parts really helped in identifying the bolts that I needed. Read on and you will see why. Stripped down machine and identified the spider had failed along its three arms. Bearings were still in good condition. Managed to get three bolts off spider but remaining three had same... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Worn out bearings   Linda B. • San Diego , CA • November 23, 2015

After watching the video carefully and taking notes for step-by-step dismantling of the LG washer, I took it apart methodically placing each item on a table in the order removed. I was able to remove and replace the bearings with no problems following the tips and tricks. The spider did not seem to be in bad shape but since I had a new one, it seemed reasonable to replace it as well, but it was difficult to extract the old one from the drum. The bolts are assembled with weld glue, so it is a... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Loud banging and imbalance during spin cycle   Robert V. • Las Vegas , NV • January 03, 2016

My problem was a broken spider. I followed your excellent video, but have some additional input that should be incorporated in a new video showing the required upgrade procedures and parts required to repair an early model with damaged front tub half using currently available parts. Don't expect everything to go as easy as the video. 1) Used 4lb. brass hammer to drive shaft from bearings. 2) Torqued spider bolts to 20ft lbs. with thread locking compound. 3) attached rubber seal to front tub... Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You No power to start dishwasher   Joe M. • Knoxville , TN • April 17, 2020

Checked circuit breaker to d/w first. Good. Went to website to see no power issues. Most all of them mentioned the noise filter being the problem. Removed filter from machine and found the corner melted where fuse is located. Ordered new filter, installed, and now have power to switches. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The washer sounded like a jet plane when it went through the spin cycle very loud noise   Lane C. • Pleasant Garden , NC • February 24, 2015

I originally thought the washer had a bad bearing, but once I got it disassembled it the spider arms were broken. This required the replacement of the tub assembly. While replacing the tub I replaced all of the water bellows. The parts came quickly, the live chat and videos were very helpful. This washer has to be completely disassembled to replace the drum, so mark all the screw locations, tag and bag everything and take lots of pics. It was a very rewarding project and hundreds of dollars... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Loud noise during spin cycle   Steven S. • Celina , OH • March 10, 2019

I started by watching the video and it was very helpful. I would make one suggestion. On our model the weights on the tub sit very close to the front gasket. It is much easier to put the gasket on the tub before you put the weights on. Also, since the washer was tore apart, I replaced the hoses and seals and shocks since the machine is about 8 years old. The shocks made a huge difference. It spins like it did when it was new. Thanks for the video, it was very helpful. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Loud noise during the spin cycle   Greg H. • Londonderry , NH • June 20, 2017

My first step after realizing the loud noise came from the main bearing of our LG washer was to order the necessary parts for the repair that A.P.P. recommends. Using Appliance PartsPros.com as my main source for parts and video I began by watching Mitch repair a washer similar to ours. Mitch made it look easy enough and being a repair person myself I thought ok no issue here. So, following A.P.P's suggestions I ordered all the parts and added the main door gasket and spider.
