The Microwave Door Torsion Spring, is an OEM part for Whirlpool microwaves. This component is crucial for the smooth and controlled opening and closing of the microwave door. Located on the right side of the door, the torsion spring applies tension to the door, ensuring it stays open when needed and closes securely with ease. Blue color tip. 49.5 - 54.5 lbs torque.
Causes of a bad Microwave Door Torsion Spring can include wear and tear over time, which may lead to a loss of tension or elasticity. Additionally, rust or corrosion can weaken the spring, especially in environments with high humidity or exposure to cleaning agents.
Symptoms of a bad Microwave Door Torsion Spring include:
- The microwave door feels loose or droops when opened.
- Difficulty in keeping the door open or it slamming shut unexpectedly.
- Unusual noises when opening or closing the microwave door
