Ice maker not producing ice or overflowing? This complete ice maker assembly replaces failed units. Easy 15-minute DIY install with video guide included.
My first hour: I investigated first by pulling out refridgerator to see if the water line hose was kinked. I started under the kitchen sink where it begins, coming from faucet water supply. Then I followed it to the back of the fridge to see if anything looked odd. Next I went to the ice maker itself. I investigated the ice maker by removing the freezer food sliding tray and hanging tray, and then unscrewing the door off the slides. When I looked inside at the ice maker, I saw the tube where... Replaces dim, flickering, or burnt-out bulbs in refrigerators, ovens, and microwaves. Restores interior lighting for visibility. Verify fit with model.
I have a Jennair jjw9630cas double wall oven, and after a few years I noticed that the light would not go out, first in the bottom oven, and then in the top oven. After doing some research I discovered this was not uncommon, and the fix usually involved replacing the hinges and/or the hinge receptacles. It didn't look like a difficult fix so I ordered four new hinges and four new receptacles, which arrived quickly. I found a video on YouTube that showed how to replace the hinges and it... Read more
Fix a refrigerator that's not cooling or has temperature control issues. This control board manages defrost and cooling cycles. DIY install in 30 minutes.
A bit of research on the internet indicated the most likely problem was with the defrost system. I found the service manual for the refrigerator and was able to determine that the defrost heater and thermostat passed the self test. The refrigerator would perform a forced defrost which resulted in a cold refrigerator. More research revealed that this particular refrigerator does not have a defrost timer, instead the defrost cycle is controlled via the Electronic Control board which is also... Read more

Interior lights staying on or not working? This door switch controls refrigerator lighting and functions. Moderate DIY repair with video guide available.
I watched the video on replacing the switch on a side freezer where prying out to original switch did not look difficult. I then got on the floor and tried to pry out my switch. Had a terrible time (locking tab or switch body hardened with time?) and mangled the switch terribly and the upper panel of the freezer somewhat, but the switch did come out. AND THEN the top freezer panel with the switch and light assembly fell out into my hands! I was able to unplug one Molex connector and the... Read more
Freezer freezing up or fridge running warm? This thermistor monitors temperature to control defrost cycles. DIY repair takes 1-2 hours with basic tools.
Toughest part of this repair is figuring out how to get things apart. Amana doesn't provide you a repair manual showing how to disengage the various plastic covers. Initially disassembled the bottom freezer compartment so I could get to the evaporator coils; they were completely frozen in block of ice, restricting air flow to the fridge above. Obviously, the auto defrost cycle had not been running, or was short-cycling. Manually defrosted. Found this link for running diagnostic tests on the... Read more
Refrigerator runs warm or freezer not cooling properly? The condenser fan motor circulates air over the coils. DIY repair takes 15-60 minutes with basic tools.
After reviewing the 'how to' video on AppliancePartsPros.com, I unplugged the refrigerator and removed the back cover to access the motor. I then unplugged the wiring and removed the bad motor. I cut the clip plug and wired it to the new motor, installed the fan blade from the old motor and re-installed the new motor. After connecting the clip plug and re-installing the back cover, I plugged the refrigerator in and checked the interior about 5 minutes after the repair. Everything has been... Read more
Loud noise or freezer warming up? This evaporator fan blade circulates cold air over coils. Simple DIY fix—most repairs done in under an hour.
The fridge is 20+ years old in a home we recently moved into. It sounded like a motor getting stuck on something or grinding weird... was hoping it wasn't something more serious. Found this site, clicked 'noisy' and got the replacement evaporator fan motor blade as well as the motor evaporator. Turned out I didn't really need to replace the fan blade, but since I had it and ours was old, figured I might as well put in the new parts. Followed the videos here, which were really helpful. The... Read more
Refrigerator stopped cooling or compressor won't start? This run capacitor provides the electrical boost needed to start the compressor motor. Easy DIY fix.
Thank you to everyone who entered comments, especially about the "Clicking" sounds when it was trying to turn on the compressor. I did not notice them at first, but then heard them and was confident that one of these parts (or both) had a problem. In my case, I have custom cabinets around the sides of the refrigerator and hardwood floors in the kitchen so I put down some cardboard when the rollers would need to go at an angle due to a center island in the way. (I would rather do this myself... Read more

Houses and secures the water filter for clean dispensed water and ice. Replace if experiencing slow water flow, rattling sounds, or leaks. Confirm fit by model.
We were experiencing slow water flow from our Whirlpool interior water dispenser. The water would flow normally for a couple of seconds then subside to a trickle. After replacing the water filter and inlet valve, research suggested that the water filter head could be the culprit. In about 30 minutes, I was able to remove the old part and replace with a new part solving the problem. Read more
Freezer cold but fridge warm? Your evaporator fan motor circulates air between compartments. Most DIYers complete this repair in 1 hour with our video.
The fan has a very thin wire in it's coil, and when that wire breaks, you need a new fan. In a previous repair, i noticed that an ice build-up had dislodged the wiring on my fan and severed the coil winding. I was able to undo the winding a couple of turns and get it working again. But more recently, the fan stopped and there was no repairing it. So i ordered a new fan from AppliancePartsPros.com and it got here in very good time. The new fan was slightly different as the prongs seemed to be... Read more
Fix water leaking from your refrigerator or a non-working dispenser with a dual water inlet valve replacement. DIY repair takes 15-45 minutes.
Being an ex maintainence. person, I went down and turned off the water supply. Then I started to try to find the leak by removing the rear covers for the compressor and valves. Once removing a couple of covers where the dual valve was, I spotted where the water was coming from.I then pulled the electrical plug from the wall. Between the solenoid and valve. I removed the screws that held the valve in place. Then disconnected the three hoses going into valve and removed the two electrical... Read more
Fix a noisy or non-cooling refrigerator with this condenser fan motor. Solves overheating compressor issues. DIY-friendly repair with video guide.
I bought the listed condenser fan motor for my Maytag refrigerator. Access to the condenser fan is by removing sheet metal screws of bottom panel with 1/4 in. nut driver. Condenser fan is on left side of rear access area. Remove electrical connector by pressing-in connector release tab with thumb fingernail and pulling on connector. Remove three mounting screws with 5/16 nut driver. Work fan out to the right past the compressor. I used a pair of pliers, as a lever, behind the plastic fan blades... Read more
Replacement mounting screw for securing handles, panels, and internal components. Needed when original screws are stripped, lost, or broken during repairs.
This was actually one of the easiest fixes I’ve done. All that was required was to remove 3 screws to remove the broken part. I used a pair of pliers to remove the moisture sensors from the broken part to the new one. Read more
