1) I installed 4 ea new Whirlpool 700855K switches. (The old switches had INF-240P-871 stamped on them. 700855K was the cross-referenced P/N.) The installation was easy. I replaced the downdraft fan and fan motor of my 25 year old JennAire C301 cooktop. The issue was getting the fan/motor assembly out in such a tight place. I had to first remove the fan cover, cut the wires, then the assembly came out. Putting back wasn't as tough although getting the cover back on (over the motor) was a bit of a strain. Replacement inner glass panel for oven doors. Installs between door layers. Needed when original glass is cracked, chipped, or shattered from impact.
Removing the oven door, carefully taking it apart to remove the broken panel, cleaning everything, putting in the new glass panel and reassambling took me about an hour. To get to the glass panel takes unscrewing about 20 screws. Not too difficult to do. Assembly is easier than disassembly. Read more
This ceramic receptacle provides the electrical connection point for a plug-in heating element on a range or cooktop. It mounts inside the cooktop surface and receives the element's terminal prongs to deliver power. Replace this part if the element fails to heat, heats intermittently, or if the receptacle shows signs of burning, arcing, or melting.
Took apart the burner unit and replaced burned spade. Did not need the receptacle, so returned it, but did have to order the contact and lead wire that burned out in it, and what really caused the whole problem. That will be covered in another repair note for that part. Read more
This meat probe sensor is a temperature-sensing device that inserts into food while it cooks in the oven, allowing the oven to monitor the internal temperature and automatically stop cooking when the target temperature is reached. It connects to a jack inside the oven cavity via a heat-resistant cable. This is a blower wheel used in the downdraft exhaust ventilation system of a range or cooktop. It mounts on the motor shaft and draws smoke, steam, and cooking odors down and out through the vent ductwork. Replace this part if the exhaust fan is noisy, vibrating excessively, or not moving air effectively despite the motor running.
This kit contains electrical terminals and wiring connections that link heating elements to the range's power supply, located at element connection points. Replace when you experience intermittent heating, burnt wire connections, or elements that don't heat properly.
