Flat-style dryer drum belt wraps around drum and motor pulley to spin clothes. Replace when belt breaks, frays, or drum won't turn. Confirm fit by model.
Replaced upper and lower felts. Painted rubbing surface on inside of drum with refrigerator enamel. Took out drum and lubed rear bearing. Replaced 2 of the 3 thermostats, and the belt just on principle. Spent a lot of time with shop-vac removing lint from drier and exhaust ducts. Runs great and is no longer cooking or staining clothes. Took the front panel off (the door front), disconnected the connector to the door switch and used a wooden clothespin to bypass the door switch.
