Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You In side of freezer drawer was icing up   Gary L V. • Fort Myers , FL • February 06, 2016

I pulled the old gasket off the door then I used rubbing alcohol to clean the mold along the back of the door and in the insert for the gasket seals . The new gasket fit extremely well and was very easy to put in. I waited 24 hours for the gasket to come back to its normal shape. After putting the gasket in I waited another 24 hours to make sure that I was getting no Icing inside the freezer area. There was no icing so the job is completed. Read more

The right door on our Jenn Air French Door Refrigerator would pop open & not fully close when the left door was closed first. Called the local distributor/dealer who advised me that the magnetic door gasket probably needed replacement (cost $300.00 + for the repair) What??? Visited you web site where I noted the right door had a "closure & bushing" on the bottom of the door. Could it be this was the problem fix? Took the right door off & examined both pieces. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Ice door was intermittent for awhile and finally quit opening ice backed up in the chute and plugged it   Keith W. • Las Vegas , NV • February 21, 2016

Reviewed the AppliancePartsPros.com site and decided that the most likely suspect was the ice motor. I ordered one and got it FAST! I removed the water ice tray in the bottom of the Ice/water kiosk which exposed two phillips screws which I removed. The front panel came off by lifting upward and unplugging it. The ice door motor was visible near the top of the opening. I removed the hex head screws with a 1/4" nut driver so the ice door assembly was free. The core control board was hidden... Read more

Freezer Door Gasket
Genuine Whirlpool part

Part Number: WPW10436253

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The first repair was replacing a dead circuit board in the frig. The second repair was maintenance items including a drip pan and a new freezer gasket   Dwight S. • Nokesville , VA • September 11, 2018

A tree had fallen across our power lines and the resulting power surge fried the circuit board. The diagnosis was a bit difficult and involved an educated guess based on how the frig was acting. The display was dark unless a button was pressed and the inside light worked but that was all. I had to rule out the compressor as the root cause so I back fed power to the compressor and heard it and the condenser fan fire up. I ordered the board and found the only way I could get it overnight was to... Read more

Bought new optic control boards, both the emitter and the receiver. The repair process was so simple. The KitchenAid repair tech came out to diagnose our issue. He was only going to come back and install a new emitter. They wanted a lot of money to do the repair. They were going to charge us $257 just for the part (emitter board). We bought both boards for $300 from AppliancePartsPros. We decided to replace both boards, because if one went bad the other might not be far behind. Read more

After using the crushed ice feature on my KitchenAid French Door refrigerator, the ice maker wouldn't stop dispensing ice, crushed or cubed. I thought it had to do with the paddle switch being stuck or something else in the door, but all door components seemed to be working as intended. I ended up pulling the ice maker out and disconnecting the wires to the auger so that I could leave the refrigerator plugged in.
