We followed the manufacturer's instructions about re-positioning the fan motor and installing the vent damper (easy). We constructed a duct system from the microwave to the outside of the house (challenging). We used 3.25" x 10" metal duct to start the system through the wall behind the microwave, where we added framing to reinforce a cut stud. Purchased a home built in 2015. The wall cabinets were terraced out from the wall with the center one being out the furthest. Microwave was mounted too far back so that the vent grill was under the cabinet causing discoloration to the door. Connects the turntable motor to the glass tray in your microwave. Replace if cracked, broken, or worn to restore smooth rotation and prevent slipping.
Unplug your microwave. Took the screws off of the bottom of the unit with it still on the cabinet. The whole bottom panel swung down to expose the turntable motor. I took the power cable loose (just pull it off). It was one screw to take the motor out. Word to the wise: DON'T try to take the plastic coupler off before the motor.
