This replacement part is a broil element, and it is intended for use in different types of kitchen appliances. This is a genuine replacement part made by General Electric. The broil element is typically found inside an oven or range and is part of the heating mechanisms that help cook or bake food. The broiler heats from the top, inside area of the appliance and helps with specific things like melting cheese or crisping the tops of dishes.A new broil element might be needed if the current broiler is not heating up at all, or not heating up enough. If the broil element is working properly the user should feel the heat coming from the top area of the range. It is also common to see the broil element turn bright red during use, displaying that there is heat coming off the unit. If the element is attached properly, but still unable to heat, it might be time to replace this part. Be sure that the current element is cooled down before beginning to attempt this repair. This part is sold individually and is sourced directly from the manufacturer. This element is a genuine OEM replacement part.

Replaced the element wires to the new element and reattached the element to the oven with the hex head screws. I then put the oven door back on... Read more
