Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Buttons on control panel did not work some parts missing   Suzan F. • Lexington , NC • November 17, 2015

We turned off the circuit breaker. We then removed the light cover and then the control panel. We disconnected the Keyboard, Utah, plugged in the new one and turned the breaker on to see if everything worked. We realized that we did not need a new jazz board so that is being returned. The old Keyboard was removed, the new one attached and all the parts were put back. The frig works fine now at the recommended settings of zero and 38F. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You I had a leak at the water inlet valve   Nicholas C. • Wildwood , MO • May 15, 2020

I had a slow leak at the water inlet valve where the water line from the filter assembly connected to the water inlet valve. I determine that the water line had scratches in it which caused it to not seal. Had to buy the entire reservoir and filter assembly to get that water line. The replacement was smooth. It took about 30 minutes to swap out and it fixed the leak. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Icemaker failed to fill with water   Todd P. • Kaysville , UT • March 18, 2016

I ordered a new solenoid valve set and watched the online video of the replacement process. So after emptying my freezer and fridge, removing the doors and freezer drawer, so I could mover the fridge out of its cove, I discovered after taking the panels off the rear, that my fridge is different than that shown in the video. I went back online and discovered in one of the exploded views of the cabinet there is a panel inside the refrigerator which can be removed after taking the shelves out of... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Noisy bearings in condenser fan motor   Glenn S. • Eagleville , PA • November 22, 2015

I bought the listed condenser fan motor for my Maytag refrigerator. Access to the condenser fan is by removing sheet metal screws of bottom panel with 1/4 in. nut driver. Condenser fan is on left side of rear access area. Remove electrical connector by pressing-in connector release tab with thumb fingernail and pulling on connector. Refrigerator not cooling or control panel blank? This electronic control board manages temperature, defrost cycles, and compressor operation. DIY repair.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The refrigerator stopped cooling and front panel was blank. The water and ice wouldn't dispense. The interior lights still worked   Forest W. • Traverse City , MI • November 12, 2022

A relay in my refrigerator would periodically click off, causing the compressor motor to stop and the LEDs on the front panel to turn off. This became more frequent until it finally "blanked out" permanently. No cooling, no lights on the front panel, no water or ice, only the inside lights worked. Isolating the problem to the control board was easy, and replacing the control board was very easy thanks to the videos and previous customer reports available here. After installing the board, I... Ice dispenser not working or only dispensing sometimes? The auger motor powers ice ejection from the storage bin. DIY-friendly repair in under an hour.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Ice dispenser did not work   Magic P. • Riverdale , GA • January 22, 2015

I first thought it was the auger in the ice container so I changed it and it was not the problem. I then talked to ApplianceParts customer service that it might be the yoke on the motor that turned the auger or even the motor itself even though it worked. I ordered the parts, the yoke was supposed to be able to be changed by itself but mind would not come off the motor shaft so I had to cut it off just to remove it from the unit so I had to change the motor anyway because of this. So I advise... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You One of the fan blades broke off the condenser fan   Kevin C. • College Station , TX • April 03, 2017

I pulled the refrigerator out, removed the back panel, disconnected the fan motor. I did not know how hard or easy it would be to remove the fan from the motor shaft so I removed the motor with the fan attached and then removed and replaced the fan. This would not be necessary if you have a lot of strength, but if you need leverage to push the fan down on the shaft you might want to disconnect and remove the motor fan assembly too. After replacing the motor assembly and reconnecting I tested by... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The handle on the refrigerator door was broken and needed to be replaced   Richard W. • Baltimore , MD • April 12, 2015

Took off the freezer door, took off the top hinge on the refrigerator door, replaced the handle, re-installed the top hinge and the freezer door. This is a two person job - one to remove the top hinge and replace the handle, while a second person holds the refrigerator door in place. Replacing the handle was easy. The most irritating part was figuring out what parts to order. The drawing of the refrigerator door (Drawing # 4) used to figure out what parts to order was not clear. I paid $8... Read more

Refrigerator Water Inlet Valve
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WPW10312696

Ice maker not filling or water leaking inside your fridge? This water inlet valve controls flow to your ice maker and dispenser. Takes about 25 minutes.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Water was leaking into the ice collection bin and freezing into a big block of ice it was also leaking water from the ice shoot onto the front of the fridge   Thomas M. • Middletown , PA • August 29, 2017

The dual inlet valve was the problem. The hardest part of the repair was moving the refrigerator so we could unplug it. The whole job took about 25 minutes and that includes the time we spent emptying and reorganizing the shelves. I love AppliancePartsPros.com. We have used this website to fix our oven, washer, dryer and now the ice maker. Thank you AppliancePartsPros! We only used one screwdriver and that was only used to open the back panel of the refrigerator. Read more
