I attempted to diagnose the four thermostats/thermal switches in the microwave....two right behind the control panel, one on top of the cooking cabin, and one under a metal shroud above the magnetron. While checking continuity with a voltmeter, i questioned one of them behind the control panel and the one above the magnetron. Took off the vents to clean it good. Saw the charcoal filter. Needed to be replaced (had been 13 years) popped the new one in. While I was at it got a new grease filter which slides in easily. Read more

In addition to blown fuse; the fuse holder was melted at one end. Checked the unit to see if any part or wiring that would cause the issue, none was visible. Referred to wiring diagram included inside to identify components, including interlocks. All seemed functional. Bought replacement 20A fuse. Fuse holder no longer available so bought similar unit with 25A rating - little retrofitting. Put unit back together, and it's working so far. Wife is happy. Read more

After dismounting the unit from its wall-hanging bracket, the most tedious part of the repair was removing over a dozen screws holding the cover in place from the top, bottom, and both sides. Fortunately, I had placed the unit on a bench that allowed me to slide the unit allowing access to the screws on the bottom edges of the unit.
