I called Sears to schedule a service call for Sat. Morning. At 11:00 a.m. A service man called and said he was going to do the service call (the original tech was going to be delayed), so he had been scheduled instead. He had another call before he could get to me (an hour drive one way And he would get lunch and see me later. I asked him about how long it might take, he said they do not charge by the hour. He said he couldn't remember for sure, but it was between $200.00 and $250.00, but... Read more
Bypass cap replaces water filter when filtration isn't needed. Install when using RO system or preferring unfiltered water. Confirm fit with your model.
Water dispenser came down to a trickle and made a lot of noise, I changed the filter but it didnt help and thus the water tank/head assembly needed to be replaced. Replacing the water Tank/head assembly was an easy task, the hardest part is removing the covers and taking care of not breaking the insulation of the water inlet hose. For the not-so-experts like me it is also good to rememebr to have a bucket to collect all the water that comes out after the connection to the solenoid valves is... Read more
Fix a refrigerator that won't cool or clicks but won't start. This compressor start relay activates your cooling system. DIY repair in under 30 minutes.
I went to appliancepartspros.com and described the symptoms which led to replacing the capacitor. The part arrived the next day!!! Unfortunately the clicking and warmness remained. I went to the online chat and Mandie recommended the relay which was next in the chain before the dreaded compressor. Once again the part arrived the next morning! I snapped it in and I was back in business, 90 dollars total in the two parts. No service call with the standard "it's the compressor" diagnosis. ... Read more

Seals freezer door to prevent frost buildup and maintain temperature. Replace if torn, cracked, or causing moisture inside. Confirm fit with your model.
I pulled the old gasket off the door then I used rubbing alcohol to clean the mold along the back of the door and in the insert for the gasket seals . The new gasket fit extremely well and was very easy to put in. I waited 24 hours for the gasket to come back to its normal shape. After putting the gasket in I waited another 24 hours to make sure that I was getting no Icing inside the freezer area. There was no icing so the job is completed. Read more
Front left roller assembly supports your refrigerator and enables smooth movement for cleaning. Replace when damaged or worn from moving. Verify fit with your model.
First, I had to replace a cracked roller so I could roll the frig out. I did this by tilting it slightly and shoving a shim underneath. I had to use two shims to get enough clearance for the wheel. I unscrewed the old wheel, screwed in the new one pretty easy, removed the shims and rolled it out. Then I unplugged the frig from the power socket, removed 6 screws from the back panel, and pulled out the old drain kit, which had become clogged with dirt and dust. I put in the new drain kit,... Stores and chills water inside the fresh-food section for steady dispenser flow. Replace this tank if cracked, leaking, or blocked to restore proper operation.
Almost ordered solenoid valve but realize ice maker was working ok and water dispenser worked good for the first 1-2 seconds. Read online forums and found some posting about replacement of filter head w/ reservoir tha ressembled the problem I was having. Ordered filter head and got part within 2 day (even with ground shipping request). Took about an hour to carefully figure out how to remove covers and install part. An easy way to determine if solenoid is ok is removing filter and installing... Read more
Black plastic cam that the refrigerator door rides on to open and close smoothly. Replace if cracked, worn, or broken causing door misalignment issues.
The right door on our Jenn Air French Door Refrigerator would pop open & not fully close when the left door was closed first. Called the local distributor/dealer who advised me that the magnetic door gasket probably needed replacement (cost $300.00 + for the repair) What??? Visited you web site where I noted the right door had a "closure & bushing" on the bottom of the door. Could it be this was the problem fix? Took the right door off & examined both pieces. Sure enough the bushing was... Read more

Seals freezer door to prevent frost buildup and air leaks. Replace when damaged, cracked, or not sealing properly. Verify fit with your model number.
A tree had fallen across our power lines and the resulting power surge fried the circuit board. The diagnosis was a bit difficult and involved an educated guess based on how the frig was acting. The display was dark unless a button was pressed and the inside light worked but that was all. I had to rule out the compressor as the root cause so I back fed power to the compressor and heard it and the condenser fan fire up. I ordered the board and found the only way I could get it overnight was to... Read more

Frame that covers produce drawers and supports shelf glass. Replace if cracked, warped, or broken to restore flat surface and smooth drawer gliding.
Using the website was super easy; I entered my KitchenAid model number, located the part on the schematic diagram, used the number to reference the actual parts listed below the diagram and placed an order. The parts arrived in two days. I watched the how-to videos and took notes. The repair itself took the same amount of time as in the video. The time consuming part was taking the food out of the refrigerator, cleaning the interior & original parts before reassembling. The only problem I... Read more
