We scoured the web and there are few references to this so I want to add it in case it helps. Replacing hinges solved the popping opening issue. We could not solve our dishwasher door issue after a number of other tries: Latch, Catch, Ropes that attach to the springs that pull the door closed. I tend to believe the solve could be different b/c all these things work together. But for us, we were skeptical that the hinge swap would work and we were very pleasantly surprised. Read more

This is a rubber gasket that seals around the door vent opening on a dishwasher, preventing steam and moisture from escaping into areas where they can cause damage. It fits between the vent assembly and the inner door panel. Replace this gasket if you notice moisture or steam leaking from around the vent area, water dripping down the front of the door, or if the gasket appears cracked, warped, or deteriorated.
We had a repair man come and inspect the unit (Independent). He said he would get the part and get back with us. Almost 8 weeks past, with many calls to the service for an update. So I ordered the part he said was bad, the control board. He did not check the fuse. I ordered the fuse, the new board worked. I removed the new and replaced the old control board. First tried replacing the seal around the door as that was the simple and most logical fix. Still leaked. Removed the front and upper panel to inspect. Found calcium deposit running down from under the Air Vent Assembly and wet behind the black stick-on insulation.
