Replace your cracked, broken, or missing refrigerator glass shelf. Includes frame and provides a sturdy storage surface for food organization.
Called Appliance Parts--vented a bit to a very kind and patient female voice--she gave me the part numbers. After grumbling yet again, I submitted the order. Expensive, but easier and cheaper than buying a whole new refrigerator! The parts arrived the next morning! I was amazed, since I'd called in the afternoon. Put them in--all well! Looks great--like new--at least for now! Read more
Ice maker not filling or leaking water? The water inlet valve controls flow to your ice maker and dispenser. Moderate DIY repair with video guide.
This was one of the easiest appliance repairs that I have ever done. I simply moved the refrigerator out of the cubby hole in which it resides, turned off the water supply at the wall, unplugged the electric cord, loosened the water supply line at the valve (had a water absorbent rag and small plastic bowl to catch what drained from the line), place it in the bowl and moved it aside. The valve was easily accessible and two screws detached it from the edge of the refrigerator box. Once loose, I... Read more

No water or ice from your refrigerator? A faulty water inlet valve often causes this. Easy DIY repair with basic tools in under 30 minutes.
My frig is a year and a half old, Frigidaire with french doors and freezer drawer. It has an upper ice maker for the door in the frig and a bottom ice maker in the freezer drawer. After noticing the flood, I shut off the water supply to the frig and cleaned up the mess. Didn't know if it was the water solenoid valve that stuck open or if the bottom ice maker got stuck calling for water. This frig has 4 solenoid valves and according to the schematic, two valves are active any time water is... Read more
Freezer frost buildup? Defrost thermostat regulates defrost cycles to prevent ice accumulation. DIY repair takes 15-30 minutes with basic tools.
This was a 2000 model so rather than just replace the defrost timer which was visibly burnt on the terminals, we just did everything. The cold control, defrost timer, thermostat, defrost heater and the compressor capacitor were all replaced. I had the same issue on my older unit and tore it apart replacing one item at a time over a three month period so on an older one i suggest do it all while it is apart. Read more
Filters contaminants from refrigerator water and ice. Replace every 6 months or when flow slows for clean, fresh-tasting water. Verify fit by model.
This was a tough fix because there were two causes to my problem - a stuck water valve and a bad ice maker. I first replaced the water valve, but that did not resolve the problem. Tested existing water valve and found that the valves were working properly. Returned the water valve - easy RMA process and no issues. Replaced the ice maker and problem solved. Read more

Refrigerator not cooling or compressor won't start? A failed run capacitor prevents the compressor from running. DIY repair in 10-15 minutes with video guide.
In short - I replaced the evaporator fan motor and the evaporator fan blade. The Appliance Parts Pros website was extremely helpful to me. Here's how. 1. The site helped me identify that even though my Freezer says it's a Frigidaire, it's actually an Electrolux. 2. The site identified the potential screech causing parts. (I didn't take a chance, I bought all three) It was a worthwhile investment. My freezer is 20 years old so it deserved some help. 3. The site provided guidance videos (not... Read more

Had to remove the support brackets from the original drawer support and install them on the new one. Easy job just a lot of wasted product for a small broken piece. Read more
Replaces cracked or broken crisper drawer cover in your refrigerator. This glass shelf sits above the crisper bins and supports weight while covering drawers.
Front-wheel attaches to the shelf above. Where it screws in is kind of flimsy, no way to repair, had to replace the entire shelf, including the glass. Appliances Parts Pros had the best price, and it arrived quickly. You have to swap the metal brackets from the old to the new shelf (2 brackets x 5 screws), and reuse the old wheels as well. One thing to note, the holes for the screws and for the wheels are not threaded. The screws cut the threads. Use caution when putting in the screws and... Read more

Unfortunately, this part isn't sold separately, but the plastic that is attached to the metal spring that allows the actuator to disengage broke and I had to physically pull the "paddle" part back up for the water to stop coming out. Easy removal with a square bit screwdriver. First, take off the trim piece underneath the LCD display (screws are underneath), then take out the screws for the LCD display and pull down and out, then unplug the wires. Then take the screws out of the actual part... Read more

Before we replaced the board, my wife tried to replace just the element. We had one we had ordered several years ago when this same thing happened. When that didn't work we replaced the board and could see where the old board was damaged so we figured this was the solution. It would have been except the bottom element my wife used to replace the old element (which was fine but had been thrown out figuring the new one was new so why keep the old one) was 1" shorter in the back than the old... Refrigerator making loud noises or not cooling? A worn evaporator fan blade often causes these issues. DIY-friendly repair typically takes 30 minutes.
1. After hearing a loud noise on the freezer side of unit about halfway up, I started investigating what it could be? My conclusion was evaporator motor or evaporator fan blade. One of the signs of this issue was a distinct change in sound when I opened the freezer door. I ordered a new motor and blade, not knowing exactly what it was. 2. I couldn't get water to dispense, so I changed the filter and that wasn't the problem. I ordered a water valve and crossed my fingers. These parts arrived... Read more
