I searched YouTube and found several videos that helped me diagnose the most probable cause. I learned how to open the cabinet and access the parts from the videos. I ordered a new discharge hose and a replacement pump. The parts came in the next day with the standard shipping option! It turned out that the old discharge hose was blocked. I decided to replace the pump also since I had the machine open and the new pump was only $22. It's amazing what you can learn online! Read more

Disassembled and confirmed the clutch was bad. Also noticed a slight leak from the transmission shaft seal. Ordered replacement clutch, seal and oil from appliancepartspros.com. This was actually one of the easiest fixes I’ve done. All that was required was to remove 3 screws to remove the broken part. I used a pair of pliers to remove the moisture sensors from the broken part to the new one. Read more

We initially thought the issue was the gasket at the base of the tub, but that ended up being okay. We replaced it just in case. In order to even get the agitator off, we had to drill through the agitator bolt. The thing had completely rusted through. inside that basket drive rod we could see that the seals were in poor shape, and the liquid sprayed at the top of the shaft was getting through. Replaced clutch assembly, gearcase input shaft seal and motor coupler. When I disassembled the washer I realized the shaft seal on the top of the gearcase was leaking and not the input shaft seal. So had to order more parts before I could finish this job. Altogether I replaced agitator dogs, both seals on the gearcase, the clutch assembly and the motor coupler. Replace front legs and rear legs took about 30 minutes. Made sure rear legs had lithium grease applied ran a load of wash very little Vibration nothing compared to before legs were installed and balanced the machine with a level. Read more

Replaced transmission (that was the problem) and clutch (if you're going to tear it down put in a new clutch - they're cheap). APPRO's video was a big help. Everything went as they showed except transmission does not just slide out. You have to work it in and out several times. Once it breaks free it will slip out. This was my first transmission.
