Maytag Ensignia Parts

Originally the dryer was squeaking a lot, so I purchased a new belt tensioner, but the original tensioner was an old-style no wheel tensioner, so that wasn't the source of the squeaking. I saw a lot of lint had built up inside the unit where there shouldn't have been that much. I went to the local Home Depot and Lowes, but they did not have the parts because they do not carry parts for the items they actually sell to people. Jumped on the phone and did a quick search for parts and came across appliancepartspros.com. I put in the make and model of my dryer and all the parts for the dryer where listed. 18 year old Maytag Atlantis top load washer had a load knocking and rattle sound with excessive vibration when the tub was spinning, but not when it was agitating. They was no water leaking. I took the front panel off and carefully listened while I ran a cycle and the loud sound sounded like it was coming from the drain pump. The timer knob simply pulls off the shaft with a solid, steady pull. Cleaned the timer cavity of lint/dust buildup. Aligned the keying flat of the shaft and knob and pushed the new knob on with careful, steady pressure until it was obviously seated. No tools required other than a vacuum. The door switch would sometimes not shut the dryer off when the door was opened. New switch came with new fast-on connectors. Replacement required opening the top cover of the dryer and hinging it up. This... Read more

• Will not drain

It was a relatively easy fix. Removed the small access panel at the back of the washing machine after unplugging the unit. The pump is right there. Disconnected the two hoses to the pump, catching some water with towels. Removed three retaining screws, then realized I had not disconnected the belt from under the unit. Easy fix, tilted the unit and disconnected the belt. Put in the new pump , connected the hoses, then reconnected the belts. Works like new! Read more

I replaced drum rollers, axle shafts and front bearing kit. Still had noise. Ordered Idler Arm, Belt Tension Pulley & Washers. I ordered parts at 3:30 pm on a Wednesday, received new parts at 11:30 am Thursday. The instructions & videos were very simple to follow and provided excellent tips. Back up and running with silence in an 1/2 hour. My 13 year old dryer is running like new again. Way cheaper than calling a repairman. Read more

Unplugged unit from power. Removed two sheet metal screws and lower front panel, removed two sheet metal screws and door panel (disconnected three door switch wires and two light wires - noted the connected position of each wire ); removed three self-tapping screws and black plastic hot air outlet to fan duct from lower end of front bulkhead; removed sheet metal screws and front bulkhead; removed two sheet metal screws from dryer top panel and raised top up and back on rear hinge brackets;... The heating element had a break in the heater coils, so I replaced it with a new one from Appliance Parts Pros. I also replaced the thermal fusible link and thermostat switch because they were so cheap it just made sense to go ahead and do it while I was in there. I also cleaned every nook & cranny in the dryer, then cleaned out the vent piping- which was about 100% clogged. I research it online and found that my timer knob skirt was cracked, watched the video online to see how to fix it, ordered the part………it came within 2.5 days. I followed the instruction on the video and was able to fix it myself. I love that I am able to fix things like this myself, I will use this site again for my next repair needs. Thank you Read more

I removed the belt and found with no load the motor ran but made a grinding noise. I purchased a new motor and installed it. The fix was easy and quick. Read more

This Maytag dryer was bought in 1985 if memory serves. It has worked hard with few repairs done by yours truly over the years. Thanks to the engineering and excellent design by Maytag staff, removing parts are relatively easy. Once I opened the unit, I found it to be full of lint. I cleaned the entire inside and the vent pipe duct work. I found the blower wheel assembly worn.
