Replace burner and receptacle. The product arrived promptly after order and the receptacle came in a factory Whirlpool bag, indicating it was a genuine Whirlpool part. Removed existing gasket and replaced with new gasket in less than 5 minutes. Very Easy. Make sure to remove the lower burner cover (inside the oven) which allows you to pull the end gasket material through the two circular openings in the frame. Read more

Range has no model ID plate anywhere. Flip off electric at circuit breaker box. Opened top of range and noted details of the faulty burner, including confirm that outer coil was fried. The problem was partly caused because the original legs were at full extension. The replacement legs were longer than the originals and were more secure at the needed length. Removed oven door by simply lifting it off of the hinges. New models of most stoves have two screws easily accessible from inside the oven door, but this older stove required the entire inner part of the oven door to be disassembled and the interior glass removed before the two screws that attach the handle can be accessed. I replaced the hinge due to the hinge spring breaking. To replace the hinge you do the following: 1. Disconnect power to stove, either at circuit box or at outlet. 2. Lift door off of outside hinge arms ; no screws are used to attach the door to the hinge 3. Remove two screw on under side of cook top, one on each side. 4. Disconnect cook top connector. 5.
