Cleaned exhaust duct, but only from the dryer/laundry room side. Replaced thermal fuse. Unit worked for about two loads and thermal fuse blew again. The start button had been tricky to use. You had to push it in just a certain way to get the dryer to start. Eventually it was non-responsive. All other controls worked and there was no error code displayed. The repair was to replace the whole control board which cost around $100. Heavy sigh.. Be sure to keep track of all your screws. BTW it was not the thermal fuse. All the online videos say this is the first thing to look for when the dryer will not start. Be sure to check with the person... Read more

Replaced valve had some trouble removing the fitting from the valve as the new fitting was slightly too large and had to be replaced with the fitting from the old valve. Used a large crescent wrench to grip the valve at the base and I was able to apply enough force to remove both fittings transferring old fitting to new valve. The instructions were detailed and excellent. The dryer is up and running fine. Read more

When I first looked at my dryer I thought it was my ignitor, on a closer look I found that about an inch of my burner assembly arm was laying in a corroded mess on the bottom pan of my dryer. I disassembled my dryer and found that the fan(blower wheel) was "free-spinning" on the motor shaft. A common problem with this model Maytag dryer. I also discovered that the right drum roller (drum support roller) was in the process of failing. Note: the fan drive was frozen on the motor shaft, this was the threaded type of motor and fan assembly. Replaced dried crumbling rubber foot. Cleaned inside and outside of dryer before installing igniter cleared vent hose. Leveled unit installed dryer igniter. Fired it up.Runs Great Now. Read more

Had to replace the drum rollers, idler roller and belt. Machine has never been taken apart so it was a learning event as well as cleaning all the internals components. I had watched the repair video before the part came, it looked easy peasy, so I pulled the wires off the old timer, before noticing that my dryer didn't have the nice wire harness. All wires are clearly marked but 1. I had to search on the internet to make sure where to put it, extending the time of an easy install. Take a picture of your wiring BEFORE pulling everything apart, for reference. Read more

Changed Thermistor, Thermostats and the Thermal Fuse Assembly. I did not remove drum, so squeezing my hands in-between drum and vent hose pipe to remove screws was a tight fit, but doable. Read more

Remove front door, front cover and drum, checked all the wires to and from the heater core including those attached to the fan housing and had full continuity through all components including fuses, temp controls, heater coil, etc, checked input for 220 volt and it was OK Ordered the timer and installed and it worked just fine, I think there should be a simple test that could be done on the timer to verify that this function is no longer working I would be happy to send you the old one...
