The Ice Auger Motor Shaft is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool and KitchenAid refrigerators and freezers. Located inside the icemaker assembly, this shaft transmits rotary motion from the motor to turn the auger paddle.

While this should have been a relatively simple replacement of the ice bucket coupling and auger motor drive shaft, there were a couple of unexpected complications. We were experiencing slow water flow from our Whirlpool interior water dispenser. The water would flow normally for a couple of seconds then subside to a trickle. The fan has a very thin wire in it's coil, and when that wire breaks, you need a new fan. I bought the listed condenser fan motor for my Maytag refrigerator. Access to the condenser fan is by removing sheet metal screws of bottom panel with 1/4 in. nut driver. Condenser fan is on left side of rear access area. Remove electrical connector by pressing-in connector release tab with thumb fingernail and pulling on connector.
