Refrigerator not cooling or making noise? This condenser fan motor kit fixes cooling issues and noisy operation. DIY-friendly with video guide.
Unplugged refrigerator and removed access panel from back of fridge. Have had this panel off many times for dust removal. Panel is a cheap piece of glorified cardboard on this Whirlpool model, which is a shame given that it was a $1000 refrigerator. Fan motor is mounted on stamped sheet metal bracket which I removed from cabinet with old fan attached to it. Metal bracket held in place by 4 1/4 inch hex head sheet metal screws. Two outermost screws can be removed with nut driver but access to... Read more
Refrigerator runs warm or freezer not cooling properly? The condenser fan motor circulates air over the coils. DIY repair takes 15-60 minutes with basic tools.
After reviewing the 'how to' video on AppliancePartsPros.com, I unplugged the refrigerator and removed the back cover to access the motor. I then unplugged the wiring and removed the bad motor. I cut the clip plug and wired it to the new motor, installed the fan blade from the old motor and re-installed the new motor. After connecting the clip plug and re-installing the back cover, I plugged the refrigerator in and checked the interior about 5 minutes after the repair. Everything has been... Read more
Guides ice from the bucket through the dispenser chute. Replace if cracked, broken, or missing to prevent ice jams and ensure smooth dispensing.
Ice Door Kit, Control Bracket, and Ice Dispenser Guide were purchased. I followed two videos on replacing the parts. The Control Bracket WP2180226 / AP6005965, was straight forward and I discovered a snapped pin on the old bracket causing an electric switch to be out of place... that repair was easy. When it came to the hinges of the ice chute, I discovered the snap-in, on right side, of the hinge was cracked... this is why the pin escaped. This cracked part is molded into the entire... Read more
Secures and seals the water filter in the refrigerator compartment. Replace if cracked, broken, or missing to ensure proper filter installation.
Our Kenmore (Whirlpool) refrigerator's ice maker had stopped making ice. I searched YouTube and found a repair videos for this exact problem, finding one with a similar refrigerator and the identical ice maker. I learned that the Water Inlet Valve had likely gone bad and would need to be replaced. In the video the tech pointed out the small rubber tube inside the freezer that comes down from the ceiling of the refrigerator into the ice maker. This tube feeds it the water to make ice with and... Read more

Fix a refrigerator water or ice dispenser that won't activate or keeps running continuously. This micro switch controls dispenser operation. DIY-friendly.
I watched the Appliance Parts Pros repair video and decided to remove the front panel to diagnose the problem. While the repair video is excellent, I could not remove the ice/water dispenser front panel with a putty knife. On my model, 106.56234400, there is no clip that can be released by sliding a putty knife up under the front panel. It took a little effort but I was able to pop the left lower corner clip just by pulling it out with my fingers. Once the cover was off I could see that the... Read more
The Interlock Switch is an OEM replacement part for GE electric and gas dryers. This safety component monitors the door closure, preventing operation if the door is not securely closed and latched. The switch measures 2 inches long and 1/2 inch wide.
Symptoms of a faulty interlock switch include:
Causes relate to the internal component contacting the door frame over 50,000 open/close cycles potentially exposing wiring to wear. Regular cleaning the external switch area prevents dust or lint buildup skewing performance.
This genuine GE switch is compatible with Hotpoint and RCA dryers as well.
Note: Can be used as a dishwasher door switch on specific models. Check your model number for the most accurate results.
The full story: Dishwasher stopped running mid-cycle. When I first began troubleshooting I tried manually advancing the timer knob, and the machine would run. That led me to believe that the actual timer assembly was bad, so I replaced it. The dishwasher ran fine for a day, and then the same problem came back. This time, however, I also had to push in on the door to get it to run. I looked around online, and someone suggested that the door latch wasn't closing tightly enough. I adjusted the... Read more

Houses and secures your refrigerator's water filter for clean water and ice. Replace if cracked, leaking, or causing low water pressure. Confirm fit with your model.
Appliance parts pro DIY video clips extremely useful. I recently purchased this home and like DIY projects if the repair isn't too difficult. In the end I save on costly labor fees and it's more rewarding to fix it myself. I have an ice and washer dispenser on the outside of my refrigerator and wanted to use it. When I first looked at the home there was a sign posted next to the refrigerator "Do not turn on water valve, leak under the refrigerator". It was an "as is" property. My agent... Read more

Ice maker stopped making ice or won't eject cubes? The control module regulates ice production cycles. Simple 3-screw replacement restores function.
SO I FIGURED THAT ALL THE MECHANICAL PARTS OF IT WERE FINE SO THE LOGICAL THING TO DO WAS TO REPLACE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS WHICH CONSISTED OF THE THERMOSTAT {THE BRAIN} AND THE CONTROL MODULE WHICH I PURCHASED AT A VERY REASONABLE PRICE . I REASSEMBLED THE UNIT AND IT HAS BEEN WORKING LIKE NEW EVER SINCE. THANK YOU! Read more
Loud noise or freezer warming up? This evaporator fan blade circulates cold air over coils. Simple DIY fix—most repairs done in under an hour.
The fridge is 20+ years old in a home we recently moved into. It sounded like a motor getting stuck on something or grinding weird... was hoping it wasn't something more serious. Found this site, clicked 'noisy' and got the replacement evaporator fan motor blade as well as the motor evaporator. Turned out I didn't really need to replace the fan blade, but since I had it and ours was old, figured I might as well put in the new parts. Followed the videos here, which were really helpful. The... Read more
Fix a dishwasher that won't drain or keeps draining during fill. This solenoid armature controls the drain valve. DIY repair in about 45 minutes.
About a year ago my dishwasher during a cycle was emitting a horrible plastic burning smell. We stopped it mid-cycle, cleaned it out and tried to run a few more cycles after that and realized it wouldn't drain so it sat in my kitchen broken for a year. I finally got so fed up with washing dishes by hand that I took the whole dishwasher apart. Confirmed there were no blockages in any of the hoses etc. when it still didn't work I googled the problem, found this website and found that it must be... Read more
Refrigerator freezing food or not cooling? This temperature control thermostat regulates cooling cycles. DIY-friendly repair, takes 10-20 minutes.
First I thought it was the defrost timer (talking to a friend). Replaced as $30+ dollar part and cheaper than a service call. Unfortunately, that did not help. Did some google searches and came across ApplicancePartsPros.com. They had a ton of useful information from chat availability to videos. Through the chat, we determined most likely it was the thermostat. I ordered it with expedited shipping and it shipped the same day and arrived earlier than expected. However, the part looked...
