I have a Jennair jjw9630cas double wall oven, and after a few years I noticed that the light would not go out, first in the bottom oven, and then in the top oven. About a year ago my dishwasher during a cycle was emitting a horrible plastic burning smell. Removing the bottom panel and watching the internals while the washer was running revealed a small drip from what appeared to be a plastic cam that was attached to a solenoid. The water was dripping from the shaft the cam attached to down into the solenoid. Being a DIY guy I pulled the washer out, turned it upside down and inspected the effected mechanism. It appeared that there was a seal on the shaft that was leaking. The water leaking into the solenoid caused it to rust and stick. A quick... Read more

I replaced all 3 remaining burner controls because they were all original (mid 1970s GE electric range w/coil burners), and one of the controls occasionally made arcing sounds when cycling the burner on and off. If a control is making odd noises - more than just a quiet metallic clicking as it cycles - it should be replaced. With the help of Wendee and Karen, we finally figured out my model numbers and which parts where correct. I ordered the parts and all arrived the next day except for the Broiler element which arrived in 2 days. I installed the new Baking Element myself. Took longer to figure out which curcuit braker to turn off. In about 30 minutes I had a brand new Baking Element in my oven working perfectly. On the following day, I installed the Broiler Element. That took a bit longer as it sits in a metal... Read more

Replaced above parts, easy to do, looks like a new stove. Needed to pry open knob stem slot segments very slightly to remove broken plastic from previous knobs. Spreading stem slot metal sides too much and they will break. With slots cleaned out, pinch stem sides almost together for new knobs to slide on.
