I began by turning off the breaker. I then removed the screws securing the bake element. I immediately noticed only one side was wired and the other side was burned off. The wire for the burned off section had fallen through the hole in the back of the oven. I tried fishing it out to no avail. I have a Whirlpool RBS245PDQ12 wall mount oven. Gathering information from AppliancePartsPros.com resulted in two possibilities: The Thermal Switch or the Control Panel. Talking with Appliance Parts Pros led to testing the Oven Temperature Sensor. It's supposed to test at 1080 Ohms at 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Mine tested at 960 Ohms so I knew it was bad... Found a real cool Youtube video by AppliancePartsPro.com. I watched it and learned how easy it was to unhook and replace the part with proper care and precautions. It even included tips on critical steps so the wires won't slip back inside the hole and save you from hours of possible mistake. Then I ordered the part. It came the day after, then I replaced the part, meaning, I DID THE WORK! (My wife was so impressed- lol) Easy as pie... but we made and had a much nicer roast the day after.... Read more

The most difficult part was figuring out how to take the door off as the manual instructions were not clear. Thank you, YouTube for your help. This door doesn't have the more modern release latches. You open the door all the way and stick Allen wrenches into the holes that appear by the joint of the latch. I watched some video and this is a known issue the fuses blow during self-cleaning. I opened the door with a 90-degree hook, an easy task. This was actually one of the easiest fixes I’ve done. All that was required was to remove 3 screws to remove the broken part. I used a pair of pliers to remove the moisture sensors from the broken part to the new one. Read more

Ordered the new fan (blower) from AppliancePartsPros. It arrived 3 days later. Pulled the wall oven out of the wall, removed the sheet metal back and removed the noisy fan. Installed the new fan, reinstalled the sheet metal back, shoved it back into it's place, turned the power back on and viola!, much quieter. Read more

We ordered the part and one extra screw(which we didn't end up using). If possible take door off your oven for easy access and have lighting source to see well. Taking part out was easy. Putting back in was more difficult because you have to match up two layers of parts in our oven. The broiler coil and the broiler shield above it. It was relatively easy to replace it. Some suggestions: 1. Make a platform to support the oven when you slide it out of the cabinet. Make the platform sturdy because this thing is heavy. Make the platform the same height as the cabinet so that you can just slide it out and back in without having to lift it. 2. The fan is secured with about 5 sheet metal screws plus there are 3 screws on the top that the fan slides under when you loosen them. However you can't fit a screw driver in the space to... Replacing the Door Gasket is very easy and will take about 2-3 mins per door. Simply remove the Gasket Retainer (1 screw), and pull off the old Gasket. Install the new gasket by simply pushing the gasket clips into the holes where the old clips came out from. Be sure to start gasket at the first hole either side of the Gasket Retainer and work your way around. Reinstall Gasket retainer.
