Heating element not working? This mounting screw securely fastens the heating element in place. A simple DIY repair that takes about 20 minutes to complete.
We ordered the part and one extra screw(which we didn't end up using). If possible take door off your oven for easy access and have lighting source to see well. Taking part out was easy. Putting back in was more difficult because you have to match up two layers of parts in our oven. The broiler coil and the broiler shield above it. We used small craft clothes pins to keep wires from going behind the built in oven. We used a small diameter screw driver to match up holes before putting... Read more

Microwave turntable won't rotate or makes rattling noise? This motor drives the glass tray for even heating. Easy 10-minute DIY fix with basic tools.
Obtained the replacement motor and tray coupler from Appliance Parts Pro. Video of the typical replacement was very helpful to show what to expect and how to replace the motor and coupler. The removal of the bottom plate was held in place by several phillips screws. The motor was attached with two torx screws. The electric connection clips to the motor required needle nose pliers to pull them off. The tray coupler was simple to install after the motor was secured and bottom plate was replaced.. Read more

Microwave not heating but runs? The magnetron generates microwave energy for cooking. Intermediate repair requiring discharge of capacitor first.
Replacing a magnetron in my particular 9-year-old microwave (a microwave/hood combination) was not a simple “plug & play” operation. That is why I am placing this in the slightly difficult area. First, it takes 2 people to remove the microwave from the top of the stove. Next the main outer panel need to be removed. After that, 2 sheet metal panels need to be removed in order to expose the high voltage components for testing. Always discharge the high voltage capacitor first before doing... Read more

The Gasket Retainer is an OEM part for Whirlpool ovens. It secures the oven door gasket in place, ensuring a tight seal that prevents heat from escaping during cooking. This helps maintain consistent cooking temperatures and improves energy efficiency.
Causes of a bad oven gasket retainer can include wear and tear from repeated use, heat damage, or accidental impact that causes the retainer to break or become misshapen.
Symptoms of a bad oven gasket retainer include:
This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.
Replacing the Door Gasket is very easy and will take about 2-3 mins per door. Simply remove the Gasket Retainer (1 screw), and pull off the old Gasket. Install the new gasket by simply pushing the gasket clips into the holes where the old clips came out from. Be sure to start gasket at the first hole either side of the Gasket Retainer and work your way around. Reinstall Gasket retainer. I have a 10 year old Kitchenaid double oven with warming drawer below and electrical connection is located in cabinet below. I order a service manual from http://www.allrepairmanuals.com. If you have the service manual follow it, it walks a technician thru each step. If you don't have a manual here are a few highlights. Disclaimer the following is for my oven model KEBS208DBL8, your oven service steps may vary. IMPORTANT! First step turn-off the power to the oven (mine was a 40 amp breaker)... Read more
Microwave not heating or making loud humming noise? The diode converts AC to DC power for the magnetron. Moderate difficulty repair, 1-2 hours.
