Ice maker producing broken cubes or leaking? The ice cube tray often cracks over time. Simple DIY repair—remove 2 screws, unplug, and replace. Video guide.
The amount of water being dispensed into the ice cube tray was excessive, causing overflow of the tray. The water then ran into the collection bin and even down the side walls of the freezer creating a huge block of ice in the bin, and ice all over the lower shelves as well. The excessive build up of ice caused the cube tray to crack and also split the little silicone water grommet that connects to the water delivery tube which directs water into the cube tray. Found model number/make and went online to compare replacement drawers after my three year old slammed the door on the drawer and smashed it to peices. Replaces broken or missing handle mounting stud that secures refrigerator door handles. Installs into door to hold handle firmly in place.
Replaced broken handle support bracket (part #AP5620448) and cap (part #AP5620751). Used a phillips head screwdriver and allen wrench. Pliers also came in very handy. If replacing cap and support bracket, be sure to install cap before support bracket, otherwise you'll have trouble installing the cap. I ended up not needing to replace the fixer handle (part #AP4372038), but I'll keep it around just in case. Read more

Samsung refrrigerator. it started when the setting was on cubes but was putting out crushed ice. then months later the water refill was running down into the ice bucket causing a massive block of ice in the bucket. look closely at the first two or three cubes in the ice tray after they unload. mine were not dumping and staying in the tray. when the water refill kicked on it would overfill the tray (because of the leftover cubes remaining in the tray) and would run down into the ice bucket... Replaced with new assembly and still did not work. Was waiting on repairman and decided to unplug the refrigerator as a reboot. After one minute of no power the reset button worked and now it makes ice. Not sure what fixed it except reboot. Read more

The blower motor that circulates air through the refrigerator was broken. I had to remove all the shelving and drawers from the refrigerator. Then I had to remove the plastic light cover from the center of the fridge. Then I removed all visible screws to uncover the evaporator/radiator. I then unplugged the light bulb and motor wires. The repair job took me less than 15 minutes. I removed the lower back panel from the back of the fridge then disconnected the power to the fridge and turned off the water supply to the fridge. I then looked closely at how the water valve 2-way was installed and removed it. Then I connected the water supply lines for the water and ice then connected the water valve line and I was done. It was that simple. Saved an appliance service call of about $100. and did the job myself. Read more

I have a large Samsung 4 door refrigerator. One of the rear wheels broke. To replace it, you need the wheel and the shaft. To lift the refrigerator for the repair, I had my wife stand in front of it with her foot on a board that was wedged against the front wheels. I then pushed the refrigerator up from behind and slid a 3/4" piece of plywood underneath the bottom with my foot. This gives you enough space to do the repair. Replacement axle pin that secures roller wheels to the refrigerator base. Needed when original pin is damaged, corroded, or broken during wheel replacement.
Samsung does not make it easy to replace the casters. The shafts holding the casters are crimped at the ends and had to be cut off with little room for any tools. I had to jack up the fridge and I used a hacksaw blade with a handle to cut through the wheel shafts. I didn't want to use a reciprocating saw. I couldn't find a way to crimp the new shafts so I drilled small holes at the ends and used cotter pins to retain the shafts in place.The rear caster had no room to slide the new one in... Read more

I replaced the temperature sensor, the thermo fuse, and the heating element that thaws the evaporator on a cycle to keep the evaporator from freezing up. The most time consuming part of the repair was waiting for the fridge to thaw out so that I could remove the cover. I disconnected the fridge the night before and placed a fan on low with the doors open so that it was thawed out when I awoke. Front caster wheel for refrigerators. Installs at the base to allow smooth rolling and repositioning. Replace if wheel is cracked, broken, or won't roll.
Used the video with the parts and replaced the wheels. The only thing we did wrong was using the front wheel axle instead of the back wheel axle on the back wheels.
