Checked the three door switches; used ohm meter to see if there was resistance or if a switch was bad. 2 out of 3 switches showed resistance with the ohm meter. Dropped light panel by removing two screws with socket set. Unplugged two terminals and unclipped the light socket from the base. Then just clipped the new socket onto the base, plugged the connectors onto the terminals and remounted the base. Total job was less than 15 minutes. Read more

I am not an appliance repair man. I am a general surgeon. I went online and researched the problem. The consensus was that my magnetron and diode were the most likely culprits. To replace my microwave with a comparable model would have cost at least $800. The diode and magnetron cost around $170. I have a Jenn-Air microwave that didn't turn on and had no lights. It just stopped working completely. Utilized a YouTube video to isolate the door switches as the issue. These were easily identified following the isolation process and simple testing. I ordered a door switch and secondary switch on Monday and they arrived on Tuesday via FedEx. 15 Minutes to re-install, re-assemble cover and the unit was working fine. Ordered and recieved new bulb, called help desk to find how to access the bulb. Found I needed a tamper proof torx bit to remove cabinet screws. After buying bit the job was a snap! Thanks to Appliance Pro. comm and their 24 hr. help line Read more

Unplugged power cord. Removed the microwave from over the range. Removed vent and screws on of microwave, which allowed me to remove compartment containing sensor at upper left area of microwave. Removed clamp holding sensor. Removed and replaced sensor. Reversed process and reinstalled unit. Read more

All you had to do was open the microwave door and take out the tray and put down the ring and put the tray back in. Read more

In addition to blown fuse; the fuse holder was melted at one end. Checked the unit to see if any part or wiring that would cause the issue, none was visible. Referred to wiring diagram included inside to identify components, including interlocks. All seemed functional. Bought replacement 20A fuse. Fuse holder no longer available so bought similar unit with 25A rating - little retrofitting. Put unit back together, and it's working so far. Wife is happy. Read more
