Replaced module: Although the new module was slightly different due to a third or ground terminal that was not on the original I managed to figured out that I did not need to worry about the ground since the existing wiring had already allowed for the connection. In an attempt to clean the range from the grease-gunk build-up, I had to remove the burner heads. I called a rpair service. The men came to the house, torn apart the stove top and advised Replacement of the wire harness. The trip charge of $100 would be deducted from a repair bill of $350, thus they needed an additional $150 for parts and $100 for labor after paying the trip charge. I bought the harness for $60, and the star bits I needed for my drill for $10. My son and I installed the new harness in about 30 minutes, which included a thorough cleanup, saving us $180. I recently shattered the outer glass on my Whirlpool oven door. (Side note for lesson learned...don't swat at a fly with a broom when its on the oven door. Replaced damaged burners and all screws using anti-seize. Also I found that a couple of the gas lines had seized in the nuts, so I replaced the lines with 1/8" copper tube and new compression fittings. Read more
