Heater defroster part number AP5982425. I have GE model GTE16DTHCRBB. I found a Youtube video of a repair of a similar model. Getting the heater defroster out was not a piece of cake because you can not see the mounting due to it being behind the coils, same is true for reinstalling the new. Start by removing the frame on the sides and bottom of the door. (Do not unscrew the corner screw holding the side frame and bottom together.) Unfortunately my first repair attempt (replacing the Gas Valve Coils) failed so I decided to replace the entire Burner assembly. From a cost/time point of view the Burner assembly is a better value than just buying the Gas Valve seeing as you don't have to disassemble/reassemble most of the existing Burner (to get to the Gas Valve) *and* you get a new Igniter!! Frigidaire Gallery gas dryer from maybe 15 years ago. Based on the fact the the smell was only in the dryer, I concluded it must be the gas valve failing to completely seal when closed. First and foremost, don't believe everything you see on Youtube. In order to get to the gas solenoid that feeds the burner you MUST take the entire top off that side of the range. Remove the grates and burner tops. You will see 2x 20mm brass nut, or so it appears, that hold each burner in place on the splash/drip pan.
