Burner element burned out and quit working? This dual radiant surface element restores fast, even heating beneath glass cooktops. 10-15 minute repair.
I broke two of the elements in my GE Profile cooktop because I failed miserably at removing the glass top. It pays to do your research, kiddies. All it takes is a Number 10 Torx bit to remove 12 screws holding the glass to the body of the appliance, and it lifts straight up. I was replacing the glass because it broke during my home's construction. Anyway, you need a 1/4" nut driver to remove the mounting tabs on the bottom of the old element and transfer them to the new one. The whole swap out... Read more

Burner not heating? This surface heating element restores reliable heat to your cooktop. DIYers report straightforward installation in under an hour.
First, I just unscrewed all nuts that are holding the frame and all surface elements. Once all parts, surface elements, control switches, are loose from the original glass, I just moved all parts to the new glass. Fix a dryer that won't heat with this heating element coil. Common DIY repair takes about 30 minutes. Requires disassembly to access heater chamber.
First, let me tell you that this is the fifth appliance I've fixed with parts and help from AppliancePartsPros.com -- At this rate I'll never get to upgrade to nice new appliances. :-( When my wife said the dryer wasn't heating up, I looked online for common causes before I even headed to the basement. A lot of people talk about the fuses going bad, so I figured that's what it was. Next, I watched the videos on how to get to the internals of the dryer. (I hate it when I try to figure it out... Burner won't heat or heats unevenly? This surface element restores even heating to your electric range. Moderate DIY—requires top disassembly.
Installed replacement burner. Not a one-to-one fit where the wiring is concerned but everything needed to effect the change out was provided with the part. It is important to make notes of what was connected to what on the old one and to compare that to the new one. I used a download of the wiring diagram to good effect because it has the color code for the wiring on it. I am an engineer and can read such things which the average DIY'r might not be able to do so the notes will help. The... Read more
