Turned stove breaker off in the main breaker box and also unplugged the oven from the 220 outlet. pulled the baking racks out of the oven and proceeded to locate the 1/4 screws just above the bake element where it passes through the metal wall and removed them. pulled the element forward until the wires were exposed and unplugged them and then attached the new element to the wires and reinstalled in reverse order. Walk into the kitchen on 21 Sep. Eight year old Frigidaire refrigerator appears to be short cycling, controls are nonfunctional. Unplug it for a few minutes, plug it back in, appears to return to normal function. Return to kitchen half hour 45 minutes later it's short cycling again. Removed the element "easy just four screws" unplugged two connecting wires, removed element. Did a "continuity test" on element, it failed, so I ordered a new one and installed it. It works great now. Read more

Range has no model ID plate anywhere. Flip off electric at circuit breaker box. Opened top of range and noted details of the faulty burner, including confirm that outer coil was fried. The maker info on back of element was useless in finding replacement: more useful was general shape, and the numbers around edge on back. Close up range, since low heat element still working. Removed the defective burner labeled the leads as to their location and coil connections. Replaced the connections to the corresponding locations, 1 to 1, 2 to 2 and the bridged terminal as it was. I noticed that the coils in the replacement burner were not wound in the same direction as the original burner and made note of this. Ordered Bake Element, Y04100019 (Whirlpool AP4283614) to replace a broken bake element on my 30-year old Jenn-Air Model S125 Downdraft Slide-in electric range. Knowing from a previous repair, that there was only 3 parts that could be bad. I decided if I was going to take it apart to change all 3. Not having the proper test equipment, it was cheaper to replace the 3 parts than pay a repair person. Read more

Would advise before doing this repair to watch the video for it. It is not a plug in connection anymore like older ovens. The key is to keep the connecting wires from the oven from falling or pulling into the inner wall of the oven. The wires may not come very far out away from the wall of the oven so make sure to secure them. The video shows a good way to do that. Replaced evaporator heater and housing. Just make sure you also replace the thermostat. If not it is a little challenging to get the wires out of the old thermostat/ heater plug into the new plug. Also if you have the same problem be prepared to have a good heat gun to melt the ice buildup around the evaporator and drain hole. Ordered this temperature control board, which was the correct part, but my original part was affixed to a frame with glue and attached to the control display via adhesive (taped to the control display face). Trying to remove the old control board was stretching and tearing the control display face so I was not able to install the replacement. No error on part of the company.
