Genuine Whirlpool part

Part Number: WP5700M426-60
This part is a grill element that is used on a cooktop. The element is responsible for supplying heat to the cooking area of the cooktop. If the element is not lighting up orange or red when it is turned on, it will need to be replaced. This part may need to be replaced over time due to normal wear and tear on the appliance. Some users may also notice that the element is not heating evenly or works intermittently. If this is the case, this is a genuine OEM replacement part that is made out of high-quality materials. Unplug the range from the electrical outlet and allow the cooktop ample time to cool down before trying to replace it. Wear work gloves for safety during this process. This part is compatible with cooktops that are manufactured by Jenn-Air and Maytag. It is sold individually and comes from the manufacturer.

Oven not heating. Randy M. • Fort Wayne , IN • September 10, 2019
Whirlpool convection oven. Access to convection element from inside. Three screws to remove plate covering fan blade. Then one screw to remove element bracket. I placed tape over the holes with the wires so they wouldn’t pull back into the panel. Remove old element at tabs and replace. Very easy fix. Removing door to oven made it easier to get to but not necessary.

Warm fridge freezer not defrosting. Jason L. • Penfield , NY • July 06, 2020
IMPORTANT: Defrost heater was more difficult to install around the evaporator coils than the APP installation videos show, but it can be installed. See below.
FIRST: Unplug the fridge/freezer!
I tested the thermostat, mechanical defrost timer, and the defrost heater with a ohmmeter and determined that the heater was bad.
NOTE: Thermostat must be cold in order to be tested; otherwise, the switch inside won't close and you won't get a reading from the ohmmeter. Take a can of compressed air,...

The elements were fine, problem with the drip pans Michael S. • Sedalia , CO • March 15, 2020
We had ordered and installed the drip pans and when we took a look, we knew we needed new elements. Those were perfect; exact replacement. The problem was on the eight inch units, the rim of the drip pan touched the element. It was a simple matter of removing a small bit of the drip pan where the element enters. Aircraft snips and a little polishing with a Dremel tool, and all is well. Wife loves the new elements.

Stove top element broke and which then caused the light that says the element is on to stay on even when it was off Catherine P. • Eagle , NE • September 05, 2016
I got online to research what the problem could be and came to realize the infinite switch had probably shorted out when the element broke. While looking for the part I came across an appliancepartspro video that showed me exactly how to replace the switch. I ordered the switch from applicancepartspros.com, which arrived in two days! I watched the video again while installing the part and had it done in less than 30 minutes. The hardest part was lining up the end caps as I put the stove...

The freezer section of an amana bci20tw was not getting cold enough and the back panel in the freezer was covered in ice Jeff H. • Gettysburg , PA • January 27, 2025
After doing some research, I guessed it was either a faulty defrost timer, defrost thermostat, defrost heater, or some combination of those. Using part location diagrams for my Amana BC120TW I started by looking for the evaporator coils since they obviously weren't producing enough cold. Upon removing the evaporator coil cover, I found the evaporator coils frozen into 1 solid block of ice. Using a heat gun, I carefully defrosted the coils so I could access the defrost thermostat and heater...
