Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You
Freezer not cooling properly Joseph R. W. • Twin Lakes , WI • April 16, 2016
The freezer would cool down to 0 degrees after being plugged in but once it hit zero the freezer failed to keep it there, it would warm back to room temp. I ordered the cold control knob and it came very quickly! It did come with directions but failed to address what terminal you plug the black and yellow wires into. I checked online and ultimately called AppliancePartsPros and they forwarded me to a technician. He said it didn't matter so I plugged in the two wires and it has been a week and...

Compressor tried to start after defrost & stops quickly freezer temp too warm. Michael B. • Concord , NC • March 29, 2021
I don’t think I needed the capacitor and relay, but while I was at it I figured I would.
Originally we found we had an issue when water cane out of the ice maker. The freezer was hovering around freezing and the refrigerator was about 33 deg. I unplugged the refrigerator and it came back on and ran about a day. The next night, same thing. This time cycling power did not seem to help. Removing the rear cover where the control board was and moving it around allowed it to turn on next time I...

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You
My maytag washing machine model# latxxxxaae would not agitate on wash cycle William C. • Grafton , MA • February 03, 2015
The basin would fill but would not agitate, there was no sound, no grinding noises, no sound of a motor running without agitation due to a broken belt. The basin full of water was able to drain if I advanced the timer to Spin. By playing around with the timer dial further, I could get every function of the washer to operate, at least partially. So, that said electrical problem to me. I assumed the trouble was either the safety switch at the back of the lid or the timer mechanism. Tested...

I had no cooling in the upper ( not freezer) section of my frige Alexander M. • Gloucester , MA • August 23, 2015
I had had the same problem 4 or 5 years ago and spent close to $200 to repair it.
I did have the slip from that repair with part #'s so I went ahead and ordered a defrost timer and thermostat.
You-tube had plenty of videos on replacing those parts and even before they arrived I was able to add a switch and bypass the broken thermostat and start a cycle manually with the timer. (which it seems was was still functional).
Between that and cycling some ice packs up from the still working...

F7 error code ge profile oven John V. • East Quogue , NY • August 15, 2016
A very common problem with the GE oven is the dreaded F7 error code. I purchased the control board as well as the keypad and replaced both. The error code could have been either part but since I saw a lot of grease, I chose to change out both even though I isolated the problem to the keypad only. By resetting the error first by hitting the clock button on the keypad, turning off the power, disconnecting the keypad, then turning back on the power if the code doesn't come back it's the keypad. ...

The Relay Board is an OEM part for GE microwaves. It controls the passage of proper voltage levels for various microwave components during operation.
Installed internally, this board transmits power signals to run the magnetron, fan, and lighting systems as directed by the selected cooking settings. Precise switching of voltages is required for consistent and balanced microwave radiation.
Symptoms of a faulty relay board include:
- Intermittent or unpredictable power level adjustments
- Magnetron fails to turn on or fluctuates excessively
- Light not illuminating properly
- Fan speed irregularities
- Microwaves not properly heating foods
Causes can be damage from liquid intrusion, heavy usage over time stressing the relays, or component failures within the board itself.
Replacing with this genuine OEM GE part restores optimized power routing to maintain consistent microwave functions. Compatible models also include some Hotpoint, RCA, and select Kenmore products.

The Control Board is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool bottom-mount refrigerators. It serves as the electronic control module located inside the unit.
Symptoms of a malfunctioning control board include:
- Failure to achieve proper refrigerator and freezer temperatures
- Sensors, displays, or timers showing inaccurate readings
- Unpredictable fluctuations in cooling performance
- Inability to adequately regulate humidity levels
Causes of a bad electronic control module often include failure of internal temperature or humidity sensors over extended use. Exposure to rapid fluctuations in conditions inside the fridge can potentially damage circuitry.
This OEM Whirlpool part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, and Kenmore bottom-mount refrigerators.

Genuine Frigidaire part
By: Frigidaire
Part Number: 5304499075
This main power control board is the appliance's central electronic module. It routes incoming power and coordinates key functions so the unit powers up, runs, and responds to controls as designed, restoring reliable operation when the original board fails. What it does:
- Distributes and regulates power to motors, valves, and other loads
- Processes inputs from sensors and user controls, switching relays/triacs accordingly
- Coordinates start-up and run cycles for consistent performance
- Typical symptoms include a dead/unresponsive unit, intermittent shutoffs, specific components not running, or visible heat damage on the board
What's included:
- 1 main power control board
Install notes:
- Disconnect power before servicing; discharge any capacitors where applicable
- Use ESD protection and handle the board by the edges
- Photograph/label all connectors; transfer any jumpers or settings from the old board to the same positions if present
- Inspect wiring and connected components for shorts before restoring power

Had error code sy ce. Robert G. • Rockwood , PA • October 16, 2019
I order both boards because everyone said one board did not fix the problem, until they ordered the other board because the new board does not communicate with new one. Well I replaced the board behind where the error was. That seemed to fix the problem. I never changed the main board under the fridge. So I would say try ordering the board behind where error code is. See if that fixes the problem before ordering both boards.

So initial thought was bad bake igniter. I'bve replaced this before so I replaced it again and it wouldn't glow. Checked broil igniter and same thing, no glow. Checked voltage at molex connector for bake igniter and it went from 6.6v to 3.4v when triggered to glow -- well below the 120v expected.
