We just had the Defrost Timer replaced less than 90 days ago. Called the appliance company who came to diagnose ($109) and it was the same part, (a $34 part). I removed to the cover to the coil, defrosted coil with a heat gun and checked the heater strip resistance. I set timer to defrost by hand to make sure everything was working. There was damage to the temp control sensor. Both parts were on your web site at a good price, ordering was easy. The parts were in the mail two days later. After reading through a few forums, I narrowed the problem down to one of 3 issues, the door latch, the switch assembly (control panel), or main control board. I had to remove the dishwasher about 6 inches then remove the door springs and remove the door. Next was to open the cover to reach the circuit board and remove it. The new board was put in and attached the plug. and put the door back together and reinstall the door and springs. Turned the power to check that the lights came on. I first checked the power , we had 220 volt at plug, I removed the back of the stove, checked things out , I found that the stove top burners still worked and the oven light worked. I tested and found that we had current to the timer and clock but nothing on the control worked to set the time, or to turn the oven on or to set the oven temp. After reviewing a number of testimonials and your videos from your APP.com site I determined my most likely problem was either the defrost heater, thermostat, timer or possibly all three. Replaced the oven controller. This needed the only removal of six hex screws securing the back guard rear shield, two-wire plugs on the control unit, and four Phillips screws. All are easily accessible. The replacement from AppliancePartsPros was a perfect match at a good price. The site also provided enough information to be pretty certain the timer was the source of our problem. Once I swapped out the timer the dryer ran perfectly again. The job was very easy except for 1 problem. The timer is mounted to the control panel using 2 pinch/spring clips, 1 above and 1 below. Given all the symptoms, we figured that the control board went out. First, unplug the refrigerator. The control board was easy to access by removing a panel on the back of the fridge. I unplugged all the connectors and used a putty knife to release the board from the plastic retaining clips. There was some browning on the underside of the board and the back of the refrigerator that suggests one of the capacitors on the board blew. GE Dishwasher would beep intermittently over the course of about a month. It then began to shut itself off. I would have to reset the breaker to get it to come on. Just removed from front and the console. I wound up replacing the control board because the technician that I had come out said that's what was wrong and it would cost $250 to fix. My Advantium worked fine except the clock and cooking instructions were dim and bounced in a circular pattern over the left side of the display. I tried unplugging it and once or twice that seemed to help. When I finally decided to take the control panel off I had a difficult time until I saw an old remark from a 2009 forum discussion from a guy that said there were about a dozen screws to remove to get to the control panel. I went on and ordered the part, knowing it could be returned if necessary, but it was like music to my ears when I installed the part, myself, and turned the power back on. Easy.
