Vent Parts

This was a pretty simple install if you know how to take apart your dryer. I have a kenmore dryer which is identical to an LG dryer. My kenmore dryer was actually made by LG at that time. You can find the specific model on youtube and see how your dryer comes apart. While doing this i cleaned all the inner parts of my dryer. Took the old part off and fitted the new one. I used the old plastic ball from the old hose and it worked fine. Next time I would replace the original clamp with a 4 inch hose clamp. The original clamp is way tooooooooooo hard to put back on....with a different clip it would be a 10 minute job at most. Read more

Seems like a poor design-hose developed a leak from rubbing on the support pad beneath it. Pretty easy fix if you follow one of the instructional videos online as far as how to get the front panel off of the washer. You can't change this part from the rear access panel. My washer and dryer are stacked so it added some time to the job. Read more

Https://www.appliancefactoryparts.com/content/pdfs/125631-1.pdf has the details to disassemble the dryer to access the vent part that cost apx$28. 1.5 hrs and some patience along with a screw driver and players was alll it took to to remove the cover, control panel, front cover, drum, belt, gas line and manifold assembly, flame tube? It was easy to find the part on appliance parts pros. Once I found it I studied the diagram and determined that there were 3 screws in the drum that needed to be removed. I disconnected power and then removed 3 interior screws. Once I did that I removed the back cover and removed the single screw on the bottom side of the air duct that held it in place connected to the heat tube. I then reversed disassembly. Replaced pump. All components are accessible from the front of the machine. You have to remove two screws in the back that hold on the top cover, then slide the cover back. This will allow access to the screws that hold on the control panel. Remove the control panel (unplug cable), then remove the spring/wire that holds on the door bellows to the front panel (removing and installing that is the most difficult part of the job) and carefully remove the bellows from the front panel. I discovered the drain hose was defective and leaking at the elbow. I ordered a new drain hose from appliance parts pros and fixed the problem in literally 15 minutes. The part was less than $25 and it saved me time and frustration having to deal with LG and a repair tech. Also, I saw that most of the parts were very cheap and I realized it didn't warrant me purchasing an extended warranty when I could buy the parts and fix problems myself for less. Read more

This hose did not just attach to the back of the washer--that would have been too easy. This hose went into the back of the washer, under the tub & attached to the pump at the front of the washer. Both the back & front of the washer had to be removed to access the hose.
