• Door won't close

Knowing that several things could be causing the noise, I ordered parts to cover all possibilities; once I got inside the dryer, I found the Idler Arm and Idler Pulley were worn and loose; replaced them and the Tumbler Bearings; the dryer now runs quiet again. Was going to replace the Drive Belt but believe it to be the wrong model, it was narrower and had 4 ribs whereas the old one seems to be OK and I believe has 5 ribs. The Drum Rollers and Shafts were OK Also replaced the Door Latch. Read more

• Door won't close

My dryer door would not stay shut because the door strike was stuck in the door catch. I was afraid that when I pulled the strike out, it would damage the catch, so I ordered the door strike and door catch. I got the damaged door strike out with needle nosed pliers in about 15 seconds. The door catch was in perfect condition so I didn't need to use the one I ordered. So then I proceeded to install the new door strike. After watching the video it was strait forward. Just Pull the screws pop the lid swap the springs "grease them" and put it back together. I would suggest that you have a person help you mostly has a second pair of hands. The lid was over rear springs and it will save you some expletives to have the extra body. I had worn out springs and the load kept becoming unbalanced during spin cycles I just happened to coincide with the Lock mechanism failing. The motor drive for the lock stopped working.... Ordered a new clip and installed it. Easy to do. Unplugged the dryer. Removed the front. It is only held on by two screws. Removed wires to the door switch. removed the female end (it had the broken male piece in it. Inserted the new female part in the front, clipped in the male part into the door and reconnected the door switch wires, screwed the front back on. Job done. Total time was less than 10 minutes. I just simply just take 2screws off and remove old latch off and replace new latch on. This is easy not that hard. Read more

Went on line to Appliance Parts Pros Brought up the parts diagram located the new latch and prong for the drawer. My new parts arrived in 2 days installed the parts put the drawer assembly back together closed the drawer all all is fine. I have another pedestal drawer under the washer all the same age so I ordered a spare fully knowing I will need it sooner or later. Read more

New inner drum and front and rear outer drum; although other parts worked, still replaced the bellow and clamp, new door latch, and cleaned the hoses. Washer works great. Just like brand new. Even though matching dryer works, I am going to clean it up and replace some parts on it also. Read more

Replaced lid switch and lid magnet. Took just a little longer then 20 minutes as I had to splice in the new lid switch as it wasn't one that was a clip in, it was hard wired in. Read more

FOUND THAT THIS IS A DIRECT REPLACMENT FOR THE DOOR LATCH ON MY ADVENTIUM PSA1201RSS 01 MICROWAVE/CONVECTION OVEN. GE SAID THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE BUT THIS PROVED THEM WRONG. A $3 PART SAVED A $300 DOLLER DOOR. Read more

First I took off the spring loaded wire ring holding down the seal to the door with needle nose pliers. Pulled back the seal. Removed the 3 screws holding the part on the front of the washing machine. Slid the piece out. Took the protector guard off the off piece and unplug the wires. Put the wires into new part. Put the protector on the new part. Slid the part back into place. Screwed it back in. Put the seal back on. Put the wire spring loaded ring back around the seal. Total time 15 minutes... Read more

Ordered new GE dryer strike plate w/stick and latch. Switched out dryer latch. Turns out it is the dryer sensor, Switched the opening ot the dryer door to the opposite side. That worked for several cycles until the sensor not reading door closure so I'm having to apply pressure to the bottom of the dryer door (where the sensor is located) before starting. Read more
