Gas dryer wasn't heating up Tim C. • Algona , WA • February 21, 2015
I looked on Appliance Parts Pros. com and read the problems that others had and replacing the ignitor made sense so I ordered one. It came by UPS within 3 days. I watched the video on how to replace it. Everything went easily, except the screw that held the ignitor in place was a philups head screwdriver and I couldn't get a screwdriver into the small space I had to work in so I went to Harbor Freight Tools and bought an inexpensive 90 degree rachet screwdriver for $2.99 and it worked great....

Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: W11590294
This oven igniter lights the gas burner when the control calls for heat, restoring reliable ignition and consistent baking performance. Replace it if the oven won't light, preheats slowly, or the flame won't stay on. What it does:
- Provides the ignition source for the oven's gas burner during bake cycles
- A weak or failed igniter can cause no heat/no bake or intermittent ignition
- Can contribute to extended preheat times and burners that light then go out
- Visible cracks, burned spots, or damaged leads on the igniter are common failure signs
What's included:
Install notes:
- Disconnect power and shut off gas before servicing
- Allow components to cool; handle the igniter's ceramic/element carefully to avoid damage
- Install in the original position; correct placement relative to the burner is critical
- After reassembly, restore utilities and test for proper ignition; leak-check any disturbed gas fittings

Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: WP8054129
The Spark Igniter is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool gas ranges. Located inside the oven cavity it initiates combustion using high-voltage electricity. This is a broil igniter for the upper (broil) burner.
Causes of malfunction relate primarily to element degradation from extended heating cycles. Exposure to grease or other residue accumulation shortens the service life by insulating the hot surface.
Symptoms involve:
- Inability to ignite gas burners using the automatic igniter
- Safety issues arise requiring manual lighting with matches or lighters
- Difficulties baking or broiling without consistent flame generation
- Element replacement prevents further problems and safety hazards
This is a genuine Whirlpool OEM replacement this part is also compatible with Maytag, Jenn-Air and some Kenmore models.
This part fixes the following symptoms
-
Little to no heat when broiling
-
Gas igniter glows, but will not light

Genuine Frigidaire part
By: Frigidaire
Part Number: 5303937186
The Ignitor Assembly is an OEM replacement part for Frigidaire dryers. It serves as the ignition source safely firing up burners to initiate drying cycles.
Causes usually relate to the continual thermal shock experienced from heating and then rapidly cooling over extended use. As a foundational safeguard, ignitors require OEM replacement when arcing declines.
Symptoms of a faulty ignitor can include:
- The dryer fails to start or stop heating intermittently
- Cycles taking overly long to complete or feel uneven
- Excessive service calls relating to "no heat" troubles
- Risk of uncombusted gas pooling in dryer if ignition falters
This Frigidaire OEM replacement part is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator, and some Kenmore models.
This part fixes the following symptoms
-
No heat or not enough heat

Gas smell in the dryer after a cycle completed no smell outside the dryer (until i opened the door!) Matthew M. • Mcfarland , WI • April 25, 2016
Frigidaire Gallery gas dryer from maybe 15 years ago. Based on the fact the the smell was only in the dryer, I concluded it must be the gas valve failing to completely seal when closed. After looking at the insides again, I suppose it is possible that it was a connection near the burner, but that stuff had remained untouched for 10 years so I still think I made a good assumption. I got a new ignitor as well since I was in there, and compared to the valve, it was cheap! I thought I could get in...

Gas range burner would not light. Arthur Z. • Marietta , GA • May 04, 2021
The igniter was sparking, but the spark did not appear as bright as the other burners. Swapped the burner and lid since that is where contact is made. Did not help. Came to the conclusion it was a faulty igniter. I ordered parts, replaced the igniter and now the range burner works fine.

Our Maytag gas dryer was not producing heat— specifically it was cycling off after initially lighting Timothy E. • Bellvue , CO • September 15, 2019
When I pulled out the dryer from the wall, I could see dust/lint had accumulated everywhere and the vent system was compromised. I vacuumed up the dust/lint accumulation outside and then inside the vent system. I then opened the lower cabinet to clean and check its condition. I removed the water steamer bottle and its sub-assembly and then the drum. After cleaning and inspecting components — both visually and with a multi-meter I determined the problem was the appliance doing what it was...

Oven failed to light broiler also didn't light for a year before oven failed burner ignitor loose Seaborn H. • Conroe , TX • November 20, 2016
Replaced both ignitors. Since I was working on the range I also overhauled the final 2 of the 6 burners on the stove top. Venturi tube and jet nuts were frozen and could not remove drip tray for cleaning and access to ignitor clip. Had to drill out Venturi tubes using a tapered bore bit. Used Dremmel with cutting wheel to remove jet nut. This range has been heavily used since new for 16 years. Works like new, again.
