Reviewed repair via youtube. Disconnected the dishwasher power and water. Removed dishwasher from under the cabinet. Removed and disassembled the door and then made the repair. The last step reinstalled the door and dishwasher. Read more

Replaced door lock. It required removing the two screws around the lock, pulling the spring hoop wire from around the door gasket, and then disconnecting the two wire terminals from the lock. Reverse with the new part. After cracking open the old lock the failure was caused by a thin plastic tab breaking off. I also bought the door switch since it's cheap - just in case the problem was not the lock. But the door lock was the fix. Read more

Disconnect existing part and connect new one. Disconnect involved removing back cover around lock and electrical connector. Also had to remove rubber gasket. Read more

• Door won't close

Knowing that several things could be causing the noise, I ordered parts to cover all possibilities; once I got inside the dryer, I found the Idler Arm and Idler Pulley were worn and loose; replaced them and the Tumbler Bearings; the dryer now runs quiet again. Was going to replace the Drive Belt but believe it to be the wrong model, it was narrower and had 4 ribs whereas the old one seems to be OK and I believe has 5 ribs. The Drum Rollers and Shafts were OK Also replaced the Door Latch. Read more

Tried bending the strike to get a firmer grip, but no luck. Replaced the door latch and strike. Washer is about ten years old. You can feel the new catch has a more positive engagement. When you replace the strike, be sure not to tilt it downward in front. It will go in the way but it will keep the door from closing. Not sure I needed to replace the strike but didn't want to risk more downtime. Read more

Ordered a new clip and installed it. Easy to do. Unplugged the dryer. Removed the front. It is only held on by two screws. Removed wires to the door switch. removed the female end (it had the broken male piece in it. Inserted the new female part in the front, clipped in the male part into the door and reconnected the door switch wires, screwed the front back on. Job done. Total time was less than 10 minutes. New inner drum and front and rear outer drum; although other parts worked, still replaced the bellow and clamp, new door latch, and cleaned the hoses. Washer works great. Just like brand new. Even though matching dryer works, I am going to clean it up and replace some parts on it also. Read more

My dryer door would not stay shut because the door strike was stuck in the door catch. I was afraid that when I pulled the strike out, it would damage the catch, so I ordered the door strike and door catch. I got the damaged door strike out with needle nosed pliers in about 15 seconds. I just simply just take 2screws off and remove old latch off and replace new latch on. This is easy not that hard. Read more

Discovered that the common cause of the problem was the latch in the door. Found a video online that showed the exact procedure for my model dishwasher. Ordered the part from AppliancePartsPros on a Thursday afternoon and it was in my hands by noon on Friday. Carefully took the door apart, compared parts, reassembled, and the joy on my wife's face was priceless when the dishwasher started up without doing anything special. I input the model number and description and found an immediate match from APP. I wasnt 100% sure on how to access the location once I received the part so I watched a couple video's on the site and they confirmed I was going in the right direction. Read more

Replaced lid switch and lid magnet. Took just a little longer then 20 minutes as I had to splice in the new lid switch as it wasn't one that was a clip in, it was hard wired in. Read more

After watching the video it was strait forward. Just Pull the screws pop the lid swap the springs "grease them" and put it back together. I would suggest that you have a person help you mostly has a second pair of hands. The lid was over rear springs and it will save you some expletives to have the extra body. I had worn out springs and the load kept becoming unbalanced during spin cycles I just happened to coincide with the Lock mechanism failing. The motor drive for the lock stopped working....
