• Will not fill with water

I took the inlet valve apart, found it was clogged with sediment, so I cleaned it and reinstalled it. Water was still not filing, so I figured the valve was sticking. I ordered a new valve,because $30 was a lot cheaper than a new dishwasher. I took out the old valve with two screws, and disconnected the supply line, the brass elbow, one hose, and a wiring harness. Checked the three door switches; used ohm meter to see if there was resistance or if a switch was bad. 2 out of 3 switches showed resistance with the ohm meter. The last one tested (of course the last one) NO (normally open) did not show resistance; I.e. the ohm meter reading did not change when the switch was depressed. • Light not working

The odor in the dishwasher was due to scum buildup in the walls, the racks, and in the lower part of the drain below the lower rotating arm. One of the valves in the vertical tube was stuck in the open position; since the valves cannot be replaced, the entire tube needed replacement. The check valve probably needed no replacement, but once I opened the bottom part, I decided to replace it anyway. After inspecting screen and drain hose with no obvious cause, replaced drain pump. Removal of the pump was very straight forward. 3 screws, 2 electric connections, and 1 hose clamp was all that was needed. Read more
