The drive blade has come off of the drum and the auger. When I try to dispense ice and the auger rotates, the drive blade does not rotate with it. Hence, the drive blade was not pushing ice into the drum (and into the ice crusher housing and dispense chute). Apparently, the hole of the drive blade was no longer "biting" the auger so that it will rotate with it. I did not know how to re-attach the drive blade back to the auger (short of welding it). When I ordered the control board the young lady told me that I had to take the front off the dishwasher. I did exactly as she said and started to put the new control board on. I could not unplug from the old one and finally my son came by and did that. I then put everything back together and turned it on. IT WORKED. Thank you. I found that the Ice Maker in my GE side by side made ice but would not kick out the ice when it had formed, the heating element or the switch that controls it didn't work. I ordered a new ice maker switched it out took less than 3 minutes. The cord was very stiff and just long enough but I got it to connect and in 35-40 minutes I had fresh ICE!! Read more

• Ice maker won't dispense ice

I first thought it was the auger in the ice container so I changed it and it was not the problem. I then talked to ApplianceParts customer service that it might be the yoke on the motor that turned the auger or even the motor itself even though it worked. I ordered the parts, the yoke was supposed to be able to be changed by itself but mind would not come off the motor shaft so I had to cut it off just to remove it from the unit so I had to change the motor anyway because of this. Replaced entire ice maker. A couple of important points. (1) The ice maker module does not include all parts. The door flap for example is not included. So save all plastic parts from the old unit including screws. The biggest installation problem was the power cable. There was little room on the side of the ice maker for the cable and connectors to fit. Make sure the connector that mates with the refrigerator cable is seated onto the plastic housing and does not stick out or dangle out.... Read more
