Checked and found the evaporator frozen causing the fan to stop working. Took the interior panels off and applied a blow dryer to the ice, once the ice melted I cut the tabs on the grommet holding the fan since everything is thin plastic and replaced the grommet and fan. Placed everything back and found no further issues. Tools I used were a small flat head screwdriver to pry the panels off and a 1/4 socket to remove the center drawer (4), water filter cover (2), and the ice maker (2). Not too... Read more

Found model number on side of dishwasher. Went online to appliance parts pro. I was very easy to find the part I needed. Part arrived in 2 days. replaced part, took about 20 minutes, not complicated just loosened two clamps and put in new drain pump. Read more

Went to appliance parts pros and typed in the problem, and they had a video on that problem and how to fix it, easy fix, ordered the part, had it 2 days later, took my washer apart while I was waiting for the part to come, and then reviewed the video several times, and then completed my repair, probably saved 150-200 dollars by doing it myself, also had my dryer conk out last year, did the same thing, looked up the problem, ordered the part, and made the repair, the pair is 20 years old, parts... The main conduit was broken and the pump connector had a hole in it. The pump also was showing signs of leaking. I completely disassembled the dishwasher cleaned everything and reassembled. The repair videos are a big help. Thank you. Read more

Replaced the motor with a new one, if I can offer any advice about doing this job, make sure to keep track of where each wire goes on the motor and whatever wires need to be disconnected. I looked on the internet for similar descriptions for similar models and found many angry reports. Most said that the rotor assembly was bad as the nut that held the rotor and other parts together had loosened and allowed slippage between steel and plastic splines. Yes, I know that sounds like trouble, but apparently not to LG when they designed it. Ordered a new Fan motor after referencing Model Number. Part was delivered in a timely matter. Unplugged Refrigerator from wall. Used a socket to remove bolts from. Cardboard access cover and also to remove Fan bracket to remove old fan and unclipped connector. Fan Blade and the two rubber grommets I reused on new replacement motor. I stood by the dishwasher as it went through the cycles and noted the noise only happened during the drain processes. To make this repair you have to take the dishwasher completely out from under the counter. (NOTE: print the schematic to help guide you to the location of the part and connections.) Replaced with a new Inlet Sump [WD18X213]. It was a little tedious, attaching the Inlet Sump, back to the pump, because I did the job with the dishwasher in place (not pulled out). My dishwasher was plumbed with copper pipe, so I really didn't want to upset that.
