Ice maker stopped producing ice William W. • Southampton , NJ • July 31, 2015
My first hour: I investigated first by pulling out refridgerator to see if the water line hose was kinked. I started under the kitchen sink where it begins, coming from faucet water supply. Then I followed it to the back of the fridge to see if anything looked odd. Next I went to the ice maker itself. I investigated the ice maker by removing the freezer food sliding tray and hanging tray, and then unscrewing the door off the slides. When I looked inside at the ice maker, I saw the tube where...

Replaces broken or cracked endcaps that secure your refrigerator's pantry drawer. Kit includes left and right endcaps for complete repair.
Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You
The cover of the pantry drawer did not open due to a broken end cap pin Eran G. • Summit , NJ • November 22, 2014
All you need is a nut driver. The end cap is attached to the side of the refrigerator cabinet with two long screws. Once you remove them, you should slide the end cap towards you. It will release the internal clip that holds the front of the end cap. You should then unscrew the metal slider from the end cap.
Assembly of the new end cap is the reverse. You should first attach the metal slider to the new end cap. Attaching the new end cap to side of the refrigerator cabinet is a little tricky....

Broken refridgerator interior plastic parts causing issues Jim M. • Portland , OR • September 28, 2025
Looked up parts based on fridge model number, watched videos, and replaced parts using just a few tools... easy. Parts came quick, well packaged.
After 16 years, plastic parts deteriorate and break. The fridge was operating fine, but the drawers and covers were failing. Much cheaper to replace a few parts ($$-$$$) than buy a new fridge ($$$$). The new parts matched up exactly to old ones. The videos were very helpful, but not perfect... for the Crisper Frame, there was a structural metal...

Light switch on bottom freezer compartment flakey (intermittant) Alfred M. • Pahoa , HI • September 07, 2014
I watched the video on replacing the switch on a side freezer where prying out to original switch did not look difficult. I then got on the floor and tried to pry out my switch. Had a terrible time (locking tab or switch body hardened with time?) and mangled the switch terribly and the upper panel of the freezer somewhat, but the switch did come out. AND THEN the top freezer panel with the switch and light assembly fell out into my hands! I was able to unplug one Molex connector and the...

Amana model afd2535deb freezer cold fridge too warm not defrosting Dan R. • Woodruff , SC • November 09, 2015
Toughest part of this repair is figuring out how to get things apart. Amana doesn't provide you a repair manual showing how to disengage the various plastic covers. Initially disassembled the bottom freezer compartment so I could get to the evaporator coils; they were completely frozen in block of ice, restricting air flow to the fridge above. Obviously, the auto defrost cycle had not been running, or was short-cycling. Manually defrosted. Found this link for running diagnostic tests on the...

Loud noise coming from freezer. Periodic grinding like an old fan/motor. Jimmy F. • Evanston , IL • July 26, 2022
The fridge is 20+ years old in a home we recently moved into.
It sounded like a motor getting stuck on something or grinding weird... was hoping it wasn't something more serious. Found this site, clicked 'noisy' and got the replacement evaporator fan motor blade as well as the motor evaporator.
Turned out I didn't really need to replace the fan blade, but since I had it and ours was old, figured I might as well put in the new parts.
Followed the videos here, which were really helpful. The...

Refrigerator door gaskets were torn Robert G. • Willowick , OH • December 04, 2018
I searched online for replacement parts and Appliance Parts Pros had the part in stock. Before I ordered the part, I watched the video to see if I could handle the repair. I ordered the part and soaked the gaskets with warm water in the tub. The old gaskets had a much simpler setup, so no cutting was involved. I simply pulled the old gasket out of the track without issues, and installed the new one with finger pressure. Per the video, I took both doors off. However, due to the design, I could...

Buttons on control panel did not work some parts missing Suzan F. • Lexington , NC • November 17, 2015
We turned off the circuit breaker. We then removed the light cover and then the control panel. We disconnected the Keyboard, Utah, plugged in the new one and turned the breaker on to see if everything worked. We realized that we did not need a new jazz board so that is being returned. The old Keyboard was removed, the new one attached and all the parts were put back. The frig works fine now at the recommended settings of zero and 38F.

Slow flow from water dispenser Scot E. • Noblesville , IN • September 02, 2014
We were experiencing slow water flow from our Whirlpool interior water dispenser. The water would flow normally for a couple of seconds then subside to a trickle. After replacing the water filter and inlet valve, research suggested that the water filter head could be the culprit.
In about 30 minutes, I was able to remove the old part and replace with a new part solving the problem.

Loud noise on circulation fan starting up; noise was in refer not freezer Robert S. • Saint James City , FL • January 26, 2015
I determined that the motor that drives the damper valve that allows cold air into the refer was noisy. I ordered the replacement part from AppliancePartsPro.com. It arrived within 3 days and I changed the units out, which took about 10 minutes total. All is quiet with the refer now.

Evaporator fan stopped working Robert M. • Metairie , LA • December 25, 2016
The fan has a very thin wire in it's coil, and when that wire breaks, you need a new fan. In a previous repair, i noticed that an ice build-up had dislodged the wiring on my fan and severed the coil winding. I was able to undo the winding a couple of turns and get it working again.
But more recently, the fan stopped and there was no repairing it. So i ordered a new fan from AppliancePartsPros.com and it got here in very good time. The new fan was slightly different as the prongs seemed to be...
