First, I modified old butter knife by bending a 90° angle about 3/4" from the tip. I slid the bent in up under the bottom of the switch cover and worked it to one side. I then rotated the knife downward using the bent end to pry the cover off. The switch is held by plastic arms on each side. The bottom right arm has a locating pin that fits into the switch. Removed refrigerator panel, disconnected light and fan power. Removed fan assembly and replaced motor, grommets and fan attachment spring. Unit had adhesive on spring to help hold the spring. Chatted with customer service and clarified that spring and fan would easily pull off motor shaft. Adhesive probably was extra measure used during original build of the fridge.
