Washer won't start, agitate, or spin? A faulty lid switch is the likely cause. This safety switch is easy to replace in under 5 minutes with basic tools.
First I checked the circuit breakers and power to the outlet, then next wanted to check the lid switch, but it wasn't where I had found it on older models. I could hear it clicking on and off as I raised and lowered the lid, but it wasn't visible. I drained the tub through a siphon hose to lighten the machine, so I could slide it away from the wall to better see. Couldn't see the switch anywhere and decided it must be hiding in the raised console, but was unsure of how to attack it without... Read more
Fix DE error codes and door lock failures with this washer door lock switch. Most DIYers complete this repair in under an hour with our video guide.
Superfast parts delivery. Got packages by the second day. Videos were extremely helpful and well done; we couldn't have done without them although we came across slight differences in our machine and found workarounds. Our machine did not drain the water so I drained the water manually via drain tube at bottom of the machine and checked the filter for blockage. All clear so I read articles on the internet and watched videos and took a chance on replacing the drain pump and circulating motor... Read more
Washer won't spin or drain? A faulty lid switch prevents the cycle from starting. This repair takes 15-30 minutes with basic tools and a video guide.
My son was doing his laundry, only to announce that the washer wouldn't rinse, spin or drain. I looked on line at new washers and was staggered to see how much they cost, our Whirlpool is 20 years old! Then I looked on Craig's list to see about getting a used washer, but when I found something that looked good, and looked up how it performed, most of them had terrible reviews. So, I looked at a video that told about the 5 most common things to go wrong and figured out it was a broken lid... Read more

I ran a diagnostics check on the washing machine and came up with the error code E47 -Board thinks the door PTC circuit is open in spin. Fix washer overfilling or not filling issues with a water level pressure switch replacement. Common repair for PE error codes. Takes 10-20 minutes to install.
Conducted research on web, and via direct contact with AppliancePros where a diagnosis of replacing the water inlet valve and cleaning the sensor tube would "most probably" (80%) handle the issue. The remaining uncertainty would reside in the electronic board circuitry. The price of replacing the water inlet valve was half of a local repair call just to diagnose the issue so I decided to have faith in the odds presented to me. The part arrived on time, and using AppliancePros advice and... Read more

First, I ordered the wrong part (not paying attention to the model number on my machine...) I installed the part, following the very excellent video instructions from the website. I got the machine all put back together, but the electrical connection did not match! So, just a few days from leaving on vacation, I chatted online with the representative, Robyn C., from AppliancePartsPros.com. She was so helpful, double checking that the model number of my machine matched the new part, and... Read more

The lid shut-off switch is located behind the lid How About That. I order the plastic ball the hold the lid in place plus the lid shut off switch. I watched the video that AppliancePartsPros.com has on how to replace the lid and the plastic balls. I removed the lid to get to the two philips head screws to remove that part of the shut-off switch. I took the new switch out of the package and compared it to the old switch. I assembled the switch just like the old switch look using the new... Read more

Fix FH error codes or washer overfilling with a new water level pressure switch. Simple DIY repair with video guide—takes about 5-10 minutes.
Prior to ordering parts I had pulled the pump strainer basket and cleaned it out. There was both soft and hard scale build up. The tub-to-pump hose was also pretty crusty/slimey. Still got warnings for SUDS and repeated F02 errors. Ordered parts and replaced the pump, tub-to-pump hose, interior drain hose and exterior drain hose (both hoses has some slime build up). The water standing in the tub when I emptied it the first time had very little suds but we kept getting the SUDS warning. ... Read more
