The original issue with the dryer is that a corner of the lint screen was sticking out of the lint screen guide, and it would not stay flush with the guide. Once I took a long brush and cleaned the recess where the filter slides I was able to see that the old filter was not catching all the lint. I did a little research on the internet. Seems like this is a normal issue, perhaps caused by appliance age, not sure. Anyway, it’s easy to remove the lint trap holder on the LG dryer. I replaced the old with the new part, which fit good, but required a little strength and persistence but I was successful. After having replaced the drum support rollers twice in a roughly 3yr period, I realized something wasn't quite right, and indeed it wasn't.
